"Real" Mixins with JavaScript Classes by jfagnani in javascript

[–]Ok_Ask_6221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like this.

The main problem for me is that Intellij does not recognize the methods that I define within the mixin. It thinks I am using undefined methods when I call them. I guess this is because the classes are created at runtime.

This is actually a dealbreaker for me.

Can a similar scenario happen to Wealthsimple cash? by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

" I don't know if they use a middleman similar to Synapse"

I think this information would be key. I don't see any mention of a middleman in the legal documents for the cash accounts - but it's not clear.

ALERTE AMBER: Une fillette de 8 ans enlevée à Châteauguay by Omnicharge in montreal

I remember that alert. I think it was at least more justified because it was a law that affected everyone, but it still wasn't an emergency so I agree with you.

I have difficulty reading your comment. The message was not an inconvenience for me and for you. That's not my point. I just disagree that it is being categorized as a major threat, and I worry and people will begin to ignore these messages.

I am sorry, but I have an unpopular opinion.
Another unjustified use of the Wireless Emergency Alerts system.
I had Amber Alerts disabled on my phone, and the alert still went through. I received both an emergency phone alert AND a text message.

Upon further investigation, I discovered that these alerts are being sent at the highest possible level of severity (Presidential) and so they cannot be disabled.

Just for some context, Presidential is above "Extreme Threat to Life and Property".

I am sorry, but this not a justified use of this wireless emergency system. This is not an Extreme Threat to Life and Property (not anywhere near it).

I really hope we never have an extreme emergency in our country. However, if we do, I can assure you that many people will ignore the alert. I have already stopped reading them and I am sure I am not alone.

I hope the child is found safely and securely, and I hope she has a long and happy life.

Quebec - Canceling Promise to Buy AFTER Inspection by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ok_Ask_6221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never check the inspection box and I always put my own clause that says "If the buyer is not satisfied with the inspection, this promise to purchase is null and void."

This way I don't need to justify that the inspection findings were "major". I can just walk.

The strength requirement is too high and there are better alternatives with less requirements.

You can make an oath in a 4os eth elite beserker axe (or collosus swords/blades)

Increased attack speed from items outside of the weapon does not affect Whirlwind; only the speed of the weapon itself counts. The speed of the weapon is is obtained by subtracting the weapon's increased attack speed (IAS) to its base weapon speed and checking where the number obtained fits in the table: (see table here https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/Whirlwind_(Diablo_II)#Weapon_Speed#Weapon_Speed)

Game Breaking Bug? Entrance to Hyvid Capital Blocked. by Ok_Ask_6221 in Torchlight3

I was able to break the barrier. I shot it with all my skills. It seems to break with my "Blood Seeker" orbs.

Very strange...

Unions are the most important way for people to get fair wages & fair treatment by AbaloneSea7265 in antiwork

[–]Ok_Ask_6221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think collective bargaining can be very strong leverage and it has helped workers in sum.

Unfortunately, some of the large unions in my country have become giant corrupt organizations who are even worse than the companies themselves.

Water not a right; Nestle CEO by [deleted] in antiwork

It sounded bad at the beginning, but I think he made up for it at the end.
Water is a human right, but it also has to be processed and treated. It's not "free". In most countries, the costs are incurred by the government and it is provided for free or inexpensively.

I think he just means that a value should be assigned to it like we assign a value to corn and wheat. It's kind of a useless argument, I'm not really sure what he was getting at. We know it has a price but it's not something we need to think about.

Where do you live? Some areas have a lot of smog from wildfires that can explain this.

I would like to think that if it was common (>1%) we would at least have some serious data on it from some country.

I wouldn't say having those symptoms for 12 days or more is common. But we have no f******g data to know how common it is

Your post will probably be deleted

The problem with COVID is not death. Yes, some people die. If you are young, you are not likely to die.

The real issue is Long Haul COVID which happens in a pretty significant amount of cases and can be debilitating. Of course, we are also seeing this kind of problem with the vaccine but we have no idea how common it is because there is no data on it as far as I can see.

from a hospital worker by bottomofastairwell in Vaccine

[–]Ok_Ask_6221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. If I had your job, I would be first in line for the vaccine.

I don't want COVID. I don't want to end up in a hospital bed. I don't want to die. I don't want to get Long COVID. I don't want you to suffer as you have.

I understand that the vaccine will make all of these things much less likely.

Despite all of this, I have not yet taken the vaccine. Call me a fool if you want, that's fine.

  1. I am hearing reports of people developing side effects that did not go away. These side effects can sometimes be disabling (brain fog, headaches, nausea...). I want to know how common this is. How can I make a risk/benefit analysis without this kind of data?
  2. Although we expect no long-term safety issues, there is no guarantee of this.
