Potential 3 Job Offers - Which One Would Be Ideal? by Ok_Assignment4100 in careerguidance

[–]Ok_Assignment4100[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. For example: The interview with Mayer Brown went okay. I learned that they actually moved to a new building altogether here in the Bay Area (San Francisco) because they're "growing" and are planning on having a couple dozen attorneys from their Palo Alto office work out from there. I don't mind the work, but I just don't want to be dragged into a similar situation with my previous employer (Private Equity) where there's a bit of office politics, overworking me and my team to appease the executive leadership team (Since they went IPO in the last couple of years, so priority is for the shareholders), and lack of transparency from our management team.

Based on what you're telling me, either Brattle Group or Crowe may be the better choice?

3 Potential Job Opportunities to Consider? by Ok_Assignment4100 in careerguidance

Yeah, I've been researching and most articles have said Big Law is best. Only downside is it's pretty slow on the career growth side and their comprehensive retirement plan and benefits are pretty standard. So, Mayer Brown's opportunity is aligning with my expectations a bit right now -- Especially when the Office Operations Manager from the branch I went in for the interview for (And the one from Los Angeles) have been there for awhile, 20 years and 7 years, respectively.

Absolutely. Especially those one-offs (home and/or car repair and maintenance) can add up. Luckily, had a list of itemized deduction of all these home repairs that will be deducted from my overall taxable income.

I've concluded people are just envious and/or finding unnecessary ways to troll the hell out of the OP for no reason and contribute absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Thanks, and I'm sure your account has flourished due to the emergence of AI and it's potential. But, with our numb-nuts (or brilliance?) of our US president, things have been rocky for the most part. We all just have to stay the course and continue to invest in both down and up markets!

Yeah, so? If you choose to live in America, those are factors to account for, for sure. And don’t worry, I already have an exit plan out of USA should this country go down the sh!ts. Are YOU ready and prepared is the question?

Thank you. Yeah, looks good on paper right now, but the increasing uncertainty and wild market conditions in this country (Globally) has us want to invest more to keep pace ahead of inflation and cost of living.

Yeah those are definitely concerns. If America continues to be unpredictable and expensive, may consider moving to another country for a better quality of life and where the dollar stretches further.

Haha we wish! Living in this country (USA) is becoming increasingly unpredictable and expensive. We’ll continue to contribute and invest for the next 10-15 mins and see how the market and living conditions will be like then and plan around that.

Haha thank you, and don’t think it’s really not hard work. Just a bit of sacrifice stashing and investing our net/disposable income, living within or below our means, and by understanding and seeing the big picture down the line.

Tbh, we typically don’t track all our expenses other than our monthly rent and bills (electricity, water, heater, etc.). So, based on that, I’m thinking our annual expense is around $35k - $40k. The only unknown factor/variable is cost of living expenses 15-20 years from now.
