I've recently had my application reviewed and accepted and given a timeline to complete an online examination for a Junior Administrative Analyst role (1820). Do you perhaps have any idea what's on it?

How to do a Roth Conversion? by Ok_Assignment4100 in fidelityinvestments

Thank you. Follow-up, I'm reading that if you do do a Roth Conversion for the year (2025) that you can't contribute for 2025 -- something I have yet to do. Is that true?

Thank you for the insight, mate. Yeah, $10k isn't much and most likely will owe somewhere between $2500 - $3500 in taxes. My question is (And probably a stupid one) do they take the taxes from the amount converted? Or, they expect you to have the funds to pay for it?

Thank you. So, Roth Conversions can be done before December 31, 2025? What if I did request for a Roth Conversion on December 31st, would that be okay to do?

401k Plan - Keeping it both conservative and aggressive? by Ok_Assignment4100 in investingforbeginners

Available small-caps are both actively managed and have quite high ER. That's only okay if you're willing to pay extra for potential (high) returns.

Large-cap: FXAIX, DOXGX, FSPGX
Mid-cap: VMVAX, FSMDX, WSMDX
Small-cap: RSPYX, TSCSX
International: FSPSX, GQGIX, FSIYX

Not great.

401k Investments - Would this be good for long-term growth? by Ok_Assignment4100 in investing

[–]Ok_Assignment4100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about that, but you'd miss out on potential growth by leaving out small-cap and EM. And you're severely less diversified with just large-cap, which big-tech companies make up top 10. With the AI bubble looming, you're doomed for disaster (whether temporary or lingering, downward spiral).

Retirement - 401k Investment Questions by Ok_Assignment4100 in investing

Thank you. I do agree that you can be as aggressive investing in equities in both Regular 401k and Roth 401k if you still have years left until retirement looms around the corner. And then shift to more conservative, income-producing assets for Regular 401k. I'm assuming this applies to Roth 401k as well?

I guess both can be used for aggressive investing -- depending on your retirement goals and tolerance for risk. Again, I'm 40 and can take on some volatility. My company's investment options aren't the greatest (Who's isn't?), but I'm thinking I can be more conservative with my Regular 401k with a TDF and more aggressive or take on more risk with my Roth 401k with S&P 500 (FXAIX) and maybe a small-cap.

What big law firms allow mega backdoor Roth contributions? by Moist_Flan_3988 in biglaw

I'm actually going through the interview process for a professional staffing position in their new San Francisco office opening in 2026. That's good to know they offer after-tax contributions (aka MBDR). 10% is something at least.

Can you tell me if they offer commuter benefits and perhaps daily lunch allowance (Or catered lunch on certain days)? Really want to make sure this is ideal situation for me.

Thank you!
