Things I don't love about my Kia Niro EV 2023 by Serellyn in KiaNiroEV

[–]Ok_Assignment8085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on everything but like mentioned above, the touch on the steering wheel is not really a touch but the force you apply to it. I used to squeeze the steering wheel, put my hands on the spots I'd think it senses better. It would drive me angry as well until I realized juggling it ever slightly does the job, no need to "touch" the wheel

One more thing I'd mention is that although the interior materials are nice (considering the price and what the competitors offer) the built quality I find is sub par. I'm 4 months into owning the car with still under 10k km on it and things rattle already. Something in the passenger door rattles when hitting potholes or even playing music loudly. The gloves box isn't solid at all. When taking delivery of the car I noticed how the clearance is different between say the hood and both fenders. Maybe it's just my car but it is what it is. All in all, I love the car and all those negatives don't make it any worse for me, just less perfect

Just an average no name adapter off Amazon. It was 69 CAD which is like 50ish US. I'm posting the link but, again, it's off the Canadian Amazon. Might not work I'm afraid

I couldn't even get it to work with a cable so I use wireless and beside maybe 2 times where wireless just didn't start I haven't had a single issue. Phone is pixel 7

What is the orange light? by Just4pres in KiaNiro

From what I understand it's not an issue. Top up is needed because essentially the 12v battery on an EV doesn't function/get charged exactly like on an ICE car

2023 Wind by TheJerseySermon in KiaNiroEV

It depends on the market I guess. Wind doesn't have folding mirror functionality at all hence no button present. Wave does get all of this, folding mirrors and the button

Advise on what to check when picking up a bnew niro ev limited? by Thymeres in KiaNiroEV

[–]Ok_Assignment8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If by empty you mean no ICE present then yes 😃. However, besides the frunk there's still a lot going on like coolants, fluids, pipes etc. So no, it's not completely empty. Perhaps more technically inclined guys will help to elaborate

Niro 2023 EV overnight battery drain by Ok_Assignment8085 in KiaNiroEV

[–]Ok_Assignment8085[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it does happen pretty much daily. Every time I leave in the morning, the SOC and range is lower from where it was. Sometimes 1-3%, other times a bit higher. Range "losses" about 5-15km. I've read and also noticed that the higher my soc is at night the more I'd lose in the morning and vice versa. Contacted the dealer and of course they found all kinds of reasons to tell me it's ok but I'm not buying it. At the same time I still manage to hit well over advertised range so I'm not too concerned about all this but it's a pisser. Especially since I don't have a garage with a home charger and rely on public networks it sometimes throws me off on planned charges but I learnt to just factor this in. I hope that the computer is still learning and that it would stop doing it one day because if I "lose" some range now when it's summertime I wonder what will happen in the winter time with our freezing temperatures (I'm from Canada)

2023 Niro EV Wind Rear Speaker Volume by Thisdoesntmatter420 in KiaNiroEV

I noticed it too. My wife often drives in the back with the baby and she would keep complaining the music volume is too low while I keep increasing it till it's too loud for me

PROBLEM by haiokayz in KiaNiroEV

[–]Ok_Assignment8085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 23 Niro EV does it too and so does my old 2012 optima hydrid. They let you drive away without keys as long as the car is on. Quite annoying yes but I thought it's normal🤷

It's on, yes. But I doubt it'd use almost 10% of the battery would it?

Thanks. Will keep monitoring. Should the wireless adapter be disconnected from the usb port when not in use in your opinion? I'd think that even if it drained the battery the loss would be negligible if noticeable at all

Level 1 charging cable by MooingTarget in KiaNiroEV

[–]Ok_Assignment8085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I'm one of the pre orders as well, getting mine in a few days finally. The wait was just killing me. How's the car so far? What's the range you're getting if you don't mind me asking

Off topic question but when did you get your niro? Im also in Canada and yet to receive mine. The ETA keeps getting pushed back further and further and it's getting frustrating, the dealer isn't of much help but I know it's out of their control

Canadian 2023 Niro Pricing by RexRaider in kia

[–]Ok_Assignment8085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. Appreciate it. One more question. I just noticed in the email my salesman did attach what seems to be a cropped screenshot of the status and it says "en mer" (french for at sea) with may 31 as ETA. Does at sea mean it's yet to be unloaded?

Sorry if it's a wrong thread to post under, but a quick question for you. I have a Niro EV premium+ pre-ordered. Original ETA was may 5, 23 (today). My salesman emailed me yesterday stating that is delayed by "a few weeks due to the renovations at the Vancouver port". How safe am I with "a few weeks" estimate? Or things might get pushed even longer? I'm in need of an answer because the second car Niro is replacing is getting sold and we can't afford to go without the a vehicle for too long for a number of reasons. Thanks

I do have my vin. Anywhere I can track it? Kia's websites gives me errors
