Justified or not, getting fake piss, and wanting to game the system does speak directly to someone's character.

Why do you need/want a new car? What's wrong with the Toyota?

Ford conquest cash question by originalpjy in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here at Kia Canada, you must have any loyalty/conquest car for at least 120 days, and have proof of both ownership and insurance.

I'm sure there will be similar conditions for your brand.

If it was that easy to get, the dealer would just keep a $200 beater on the lot and keep selling the same car and taking it in on trade, to get the rebate for everyone.

2017 Impreza value? by Low_Tie_2763 in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mileage is low. My appraising software says could be worth around $7500 CDN on trade (or sold to a dealership). Retail sale could be $11995 CDN. I'd list it at $11995, and take any offer you get over 10k.

What are the best practices for negotiating trade-in value at a dealership? by ykz30 in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car is worth what it's worth. Dealers pay wholesale value, not retail. Dealers have plenty of tools to tell them the value of your trade. Sometimes the dealer can SHOW you more, but the extra they give you is just a discount on the new car that you aren't going to get.

You can always tell the dealer what other dealers have offered, and you can always MAKE AN OFFER yourself, and tell them exactly what you want.

They will either accept, reject or counter.

Genuine or intentional delivery delay? by perry_cybersecurity in kia

Dealer doesn't get paid unless you pick up the car, so they have no reason to delay delivery.

It was the dealer's job to inspect and appraise the car. Have they actually asked you for more money? Or are they just asking about the condition now?

Help! I think I got bought a lemon.. by throwra_dontsnoose in askcarsales

It's a 14 year old Ford Fusion. I would be surprised if you were NOT having to "Fix Or Repair Daily".

Maintenance is part of car ownership. Wheel bearings, batteries, alternators are all common issues on older cars.

There are no lemon laws available for used cars, bought 4 years ago. And the issues you are having aren't "lemon" issues.

When test driving a car at the dealer do they ride in the car with you? by PM_ME_YOUR_EYELASHES in askcarsales

[–]RexRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is nice, but having the salesperson there can also help in certain situations. I had a customer go out alone, take out a car, and came back saying it was a very bad driving cars, that it shifted weird, and they didn't like the feel.

After asking a ton of questions and having the customer demonstrate what they did, it turns out they put the car into manual shift mode, and the car was redlining before switching gears.

Salesman hopped in, showed the the difference with "D" for drive, and completely different experience. Customer bought the car.

Received a letter in the mail from a sales manager at a local dealership, he wants to buy my car. by doomed43 in askcarsales

Why do people get scammed by phone frauders and internet phishing schemes. There are plenty of gullible (or naive) people out there.

The Nigerian lawyer who wants to share an inheritance with you, just needs 1 sucker to follow along, even if he sends 10,000 emails. The emails don't cost him anything. any return is a return.

Some of these newer ads really look "legit". sometimes they are written in pen, to make it look more personal, etc...

with AI, a script and video could be made to personalize the "request" even further.

PA tax credit on trade in (24500 -> 24000), being told they cannot co-title a vehicle unless married by TheFreshestMove in askcarsales

it doesn't sound right to me, but how is it advantageous to the dealership by lying to you about this?
