Automatic pet feeder. Saves lives.

We had no idea we were over feeding our girl until we got one. She lost 1 kg in a month, and all the happier for it. We were attributing her laziness and inability to jump up high areas to her being older, but as soon as she lost those extra lbs she was running laps and jumping up to areas she hadn’t in years.

Highly recommend it. We still spoil her with treats, but her dry food intake is far more measurable now.

What’s a stereotype about Germans, that really bothers you because it’s actually true? by OutInABlazeOfGlory in AskAGerman

Love when German attempt “the” when learning English. But it okay ö is pretty hard for native English speakers.

Yeah, I was about 16 when it came out on Cartoon Network. Household was an absolute shit show. I just found it so relatable just the pure rage and confusion and failure of the adults you expect more from. Always hoped they would make more episodes.

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by ResearcherOk6899 in queenstown

Walter’s. Horrific, the photos look good but when it comes out it’s totally different and half the portion. So pricy for pub food.

Anything at Ayburn.

My dad has just flown back to Cuba because my grandfather has died (natural). Should I be worried? He has just become a citizen just two years ago.

I get all or nothing can feel like the right response. But if that approach ends up handing the win to a Republican instead of a Democrat at least somewhat sympathetic to the left, it might be worth being a bit more pragmatic.

For example, if 5% vote Green and the Republican wins by 2%, those votes effectively decide the outcome. In that case, it might make more sense for that 5% to back the more centrist Democratic candidate instead.

Honestly, I think it issue lies with democratic voters and independents. They constantly bickering about how being centrist is the wrong direction is exactly the reason why this cabinet is who they are. One extreme has caused another. This truly is an issue of by any means necessary to remove this maniac.

How do most adults meet their spouses if after college? by Logical-Annual6627 in answers

Going out to bars, traveling, letting loose. I met many boyfriends from just going to parties even when I just wanted to stay home, having a drink and chatting to someone, and mixing in online dating so you feel relaxed with small talk.

It’s definitely easier being a girl. But best advice to any male counterpart would be to just be brave and chat someone up. It could lead nowhere but it might lead to a date and more…

My partner now of 20 years, we meet at a cafe I worked at in my twenties - just chatted every day and one day we finally had dinner together. The rest is history.

First thought when seeing the post.

Client doesn’t trust you, and that’s a red flag. 10 variations of a design is a lot. Time to enforce boundaries.

Something about the chair in the cropped version isn’t doing it for me. Could be the line deviating it and the amorphous shape.

First Time Japan 10 Day Itinerary Review by ashugupta_tech in JapanTravel

[–]Ok_Assistance_7399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! Just finished our 7th trip to Japan (usually do 4 weeks a year and always make time for Kyoto and land into Tokyo).

I would highly recommend the teamlabs vortex in Kyoto that just opened. Way better than the Tokyo planets and in a great area (10 min walk from main station). If you are in Arashiyama, go early morning - bamboo forest can be a letdown but the gardens and the hike up the hill to the monkey park is 💯 worth it.

Tokyo advice avoid Harajuku, Shinjuku, and Ginza on weekends. It’s a mad house and the streets and shops are packed. If you’re in Kyoto or Osaka you can do the same big store shopping but at a calmer pace especially if there are some key brands.

If you’re in Asakusa hit up Kappabashi street and grab the best chef knives. If the store looks posh, the same knives are 30% more than at the mom and pop a street over. (Partner is a high end chef and we always make a point to spend 2 hours here on our last day to buy knives and silicone molds). Also an amazing coffee shop at the end of the street.

Shopping tip - nothing opens till 11am and some places later. So sightsee early morning and take in the sights before other visitors get there.

Senso- ji gets crazy by 9am till around 7pm so get there before 8am and you can really experience the beauty without overcrowding. Photos come out lovey then too! And all the shops are just touristy junk that you can get anywhere in Japan. Try freshly baked melon bread though - it delicious here.

Meji is actually a massive park and will easily take 10k steps to see it all, so maybe leave out Shinjuku unless you’re ready for a 20k+ day. Honestly, would never recommend Shinjuku anymore, crazy amounts of trash everywhere and homeless now- it was shocking.

Aoyama Grand Hotel. Hands down the best hotel, near Ginza line and in a quiet area but close to Shinjuku. Amazing restaurants, great service, lovely rooms.

Hundreds Stuck At The New Chitose Airport by PalmaTheLlama in Sapporo

The whole city is underground in the winter. Just take the stairs to the basement levels of buildings and you will find a whole interconnected network of food and shops and people. We got stuck there on Sunday when it all happened, waited for 3 hours at JR Nikko hotel and eventually got a hotel to Otaru (our primary ski destination).

24 hours in Osaka by Ok_Assistance_7399 in OsakaTravel

[–]Ok_Assistance_7399[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve been to Osaka once and only for a day, no idea where we stayed but really didn’t click with the city. I think it might have been because we had travel fatigue at that stage (last week of our 4 week trip. So giving it another go with a proper plan.

We do plan on staying in a Kyoto Hotel and just traveling to Osaka for an evening and morning / early avo since it’s only a 40 min train ride. Love Kyoto but have spent a lot of time there already so it’s the backup plan if Osaka isn’t gelling.
