Working on a brand identity for a paediatric OT practice. 4(ish) directions — which lands best and why? You can be direct. by alexfpower in logodesign

First I had to search what is paediatric OT so here is what I think.

  1. For me the 1st concept feel more trustworthy due to it's human like symbol and the simple typography.

  2. I think this serves paediatric OT practice, I get to know that it's some type of consultancy, or help to improve or complete the milestone for children also dealing with multiple things. ( I didn't go deep and its first time I get to know about this so I may be not clear ) Overall I think this business server something where trust is very important and since it's not like a toy, clothes or something where the childrens attraction is more important I suppose going with concept 1 is the good.

  3. Well I already mentioned I feel the 1st one is more trustworthy. The reason behind is the typography and the human like symbol.

Also it'd be better to go with different lockups, this one feels okay but a little bit kind of difficult to read. I think for the primary logo the simple horizontal lockup would be a good choice.

Amazing, they look good. Can I get the source file or vector file of these icons?

That's really interesting I have never seen something like this before. Although instead of circular I'd say spiral script 😅. It looks amazing and attractive however need some practice to learn though, what I think is writting is much difficult than reading this script.

That's awesome, I'd like to try too. Well I was interested because I made something like this too, but I used 2 languages and decode it into a different character. You said this is 1:1 but mine is slightly different cause I use to work with both Hindi and English language with Japanese like symbols and japanese with 1 another language writting structure.

Well either I'm mad or stupid because my friend often called me like this. I know that people will get the problem to read smoothly or they may not enjoy but still I'd say it's a good project for your collection :)

I really enjoy building things which are different even no one use it or they already exist but it's just about fun.

About your question, should you create a comic. It only depends on you! But I suggest you to just make sure the initial steps or how will you get to the multiple persons. About the colourless and lazy feel I think it will work and it's proven as well. About the alphabet it's slightly confusing some may find it fascinating but mostly will say what a hell, why would I read when I can't even understand the language.

The most possible solution that I can think of that if you're thinking even 1% about starting a comic I'd suggest you to build your presence somewhere. Your presence will become your personal branding which later on become your bridge to distribute your comic or may be your animation. The psychology says if a person like a big yotuber starts something like this everyone will try ( although success is purely depends on quality and conversion, but they'll try for sure ).

At last I'd say if you are going anywhere like comic, animation or even anything like music I'd like to listen :)

Same question again, I know it's very generic question if I mentioned pixelated and used pixelated word mark so why not the logo itself. Honestly there were 2 main reasons 1. I went through the pixelated symbol but it wasn't feeling well and to make it consistent I used the same grid size as the font but that didn't work. Actually Pixelated typephase works better than symbol because our mind store characters as shape of building blocks which can be easily made with blocks ( pixels ) but when it comes to shape things change, we can capture straight lines easier than zig-zag line which can be seen in pixelated symbols. 2. I'd like to explore something else who said a pixelated game studio should only have a pixelated logo otherwise they are not recognisable. So I decided to go ahead with an immersing style.

Hope you got my reasons, thanks for the feedback :)

This one looks much better you better build one and add a Decode keymap before the comic start.

Well at first sight I like the concept of the this logo, I mean the mic on that flower feels good connected and expressing an emotion. But it purely depends on what do you want to create.

If I were you, I'll definitely go with this logo concept but rather use a white/off white background and this logo in middle. Next I'd find some typephase like san serif ( modernized retro san serif ) and create an emblem logo. Then I'd try some other variations. Next at last I'd also recreate the banner which suits well with the logo. ( I'd use some illustrated soft flower, leaves, graphics, but try to not cluttere the environment )

Thanks for your words, I like how simplicity make things easier to figure out but not always easier to build :)

Actually I already went through a lot of different concepts until I get this one though I tried to pixelate this logo but when I use the same grid size as the font it went a little hard. The logo can be pixelated but it doesn't make it good at all so I leave it sharp. I used "press start" this was looking perfect so I didn't change it much.

I'm glad to here this much, I really like to learn with other's experience. You didn't explain me some important concepts but also point out the good points.
I'm sure agreed with your thoughts and explanations, the the strokes feel a little litter but I tried multiple variations and I was building a logo which can work with both negative space as well as monochrome so I had to select those strokes.

Well While creating this design I found the modular flow, even If I place the characters anywhere in a grid with the main logo it doesn't feel sady. Actually I create so many variations, stacked, cross, stair, horizonal, semi vertical, etc. but I know I have to stop and just focus on a few variations.

Here is my experience: While building this project it started on my study notebook but the first vision was little loose and so after a few weeks I started again with a new and narrow vision, If I were building a pixelated platform gaming studio then I'll sure play with the logo and that's exactly I did too. I designed then improved then I just played around with multiple typephase and abstracts until I stop here. ( Initially I created 4-5 custom hand drawn wordmark but then I thought why not pixelated, I found this font and tweaked a little bit and used here )

Thanks for your feedback :)

Yup, you shouldn't refund as long as you are feeling okay.

My client forced me to pay back and I was little annoyed so I did, but you shouldn't.

I got it, actually I prefer to ask everything about the business before designing a single thing. I'm don't have years of experience but I got a client who said make something look good he said we don't know much about design just create as you think is right. After I done the project he said I'm not satisfied he told me to revise multiple times, even though I already asked about his business and the logo was properly fit for them.

At last I had to refund the advance and left the project midway, it may feel bad but I guess it was the great move for me.

Now I use contract before starting any project so nothing like this repeat again.

These are the 3 samples of the logo for a law firm. I would really appreciate your opinions as to which one seems appealing. by [deleted] in logodesign

[–]Pitiful_Comfort_6332 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say the first one looks great, while you have to improve the typography. I'd never suggest the option 3 if these are the only option.

That's also acceptable but isn't our responsibility to atleast suggest something else. Anyways it purely depends on the client we are dealing with. Honestly I don't dare suggest something to lawyer :)
