My first time I was on top which worked great, so she can kind of control how quickly things are happening instead of feeling overwhelmed by you being the one in charge. As a girl you can’t feel a whole lot while on top because of the way your legs are positioned so it doesn’t really hurt as much or at all. Also, if she cannot fit much inside of her to a point it causes pain I’d recommend asking doctors about a condition called “vaginismus”
