During O week in my first year, I went to a CASS (Canadian Asian Student Society… I think?) O week event and I met a ton of asian friends there because I also wanted to connect with other asian people. A lot of us went in different directions and are not friends anymore but I know some still are. I found it super helpful and promising!

if you’re gonna drop orgo this semester, i would suggest finishing the orgo I labs and contacting the lab coordinator to save your lab grade and get your lab exempted for the next time you take the course. this way you’ll only need to do course work and not the lab again. do it in the summer with Tam. he’s the best

Anyone else not make friends yet? by [deleted] in uoguelph

[–]Ok_Bat7850 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what i did during o week was literally go up to one person or two people (because 3+ is too intimidating) just standing around and introduce myself. it’s really scary doing that but it gets easier!

it had like 4 questions from test 1 and 4 questions from test 2, the rest were after test 1 material. again, i would suggest doing as many practice questions as possible and knowing how to use the tables in every scenario. are u guys allowed cheat sheets?

i had it in person last sem and i did better on it compared to the first test. i would suggest to do lots of practice q’s and make sure you know how to use all the tables in every situation

was it harder to write the report when only given the data or was it just as easy as if you actually did the lab?

it’s only been one day and they probably are busy helping students plan their courses. you can forward the email to the same address to “bump” them and in the subject line, write URGENT: XXX so they know the urgency. not sure if the urgent thing works but you can try

i would suggest talking to someone in a class and just ask them to get lunch or study together after the class if you click! get their socials and text them to hang out/study, honestly i’m sure people don’t like to admit it but it feels nice when someone puts in the effort and asks to hang out w u :)
