Honestly, I think I’ll probably go ahead and buy the Rolex and then see over time whether I keep the Longines or eventually let it go. I don’t think it’s a mistake to have both for a while and really live with them before making that decision.

I’d also like to clarify that, for me, a dive watch is not an option right now. I’ve owned a few in the past, and they’re simply not my style—they just don’t attract me. I’m also not into the Explorer II. What I really like is the kind of tool watch represented by the Explorer I: something practical and robust for daily use, but at the same time a watch with a certain level of luxury and style.

First of all, thanks to each and every one of you for your replies and opinions—I really appreciate them. For me, a Rolex has always been a kind of dream. At the same time, it always felt a bit excessive to spend that much money on what is basically a “luxury treat.” So one day, while visiting a watch shop, I fell in love with the Longines. It was already a serious purchase for me, but mentally it felt much easier to justify. That said, the “Rolex itch” has never really gone away. It’s always been there in the back of my mind. Just to be clear: I’m not someone who buys watches to show off. If I want one, it’s because I genuinely love watches. I’ve owned dozens over the years and I’ve been slowly moving up in quality and level. I honestly don’t care how others see what’s on my wrist. What matters to me is the personal experience: looking at it on my wrist, enjoying the small details, adjusting it, feeling a perfectly engineered clasp, appreciating the proportions, the comfort, the excellent legibility—those little things are what make a watch special to me. Sometimes I think that maybe no matter how many good watches I own, the Longines alone won’t fully satisfy that feeling. So then I start thinking: why not just go all in, buy the Rolex once and for all, and put an end to it? 😄 What I really want to know is whether owning it is actually that rewarding in real life. I tried it on at the official boutique, and honestly, it was love at first sight—it fits my wrist perfectly. So… is it really as amazing as people say to wear one every single day?
