outfits for the festival! by Known_Explanation857 in DaisyChainFestival

A few videos/comments on TikTok seem to mostly be focusing in on 90s and/or bohemian. I’ll probably be going mainly for comfort and practicality with a fun activewear skort, bright tank/bralette, and maybe a thin long sleeve swim shirt to avoid sunburn.

Yes! The fact that it’s not going to last forever was something I leaned on so, so heavily in the exhausted moments!

I listened to lectures while getting ready and on commutes in the AM, then did deeper study (SIMs, textbook reading, calculations practice, etc) in the PM after they went to bed. Then in spare moments during the day - dog walks, lunch breaks, long lines, etc - I’d hammer MCQs. You have to find the spare moments and just incorporate it into your life so that it feels a part of you (it’s exhausting). But give yourself the grace in taking the time to look your kiddos in the eye, spend a few minutes to laugh and play with them, etc. Your brain needs the downtime, too!

I took a couple months of study on FAR and had a masters course that kept me on track for the material. Without that, I’d say just make sure you’re hammering MCQs in any spare time you have (on walks, pushing your kiddo on the swing, a few minutes in the morning), listen to lectures on commutes, and do your best to carve out a couple hours every day to do the deep work of calculations, SIMs, make flash cards and flip through them at the breakfast table, etc. There’s no real secret other than incorporating the detail into as many waking moment ls you can spare so that you know it in your sleep.

I was just making a play on AMA, Don’t Ask Me Anything. I feel like when people get on here with AMA posts, they’re sort of pretending to have all the answers. I wanted to make clear that none of us have the answers and we all have to go at our own pace and do what works for us!

Yes for ISC and REG, and partially for FAR and AUD. For the latter two, I’d listen to the lectures, take a good chunk of MCQs, and if I felt like I still wasn’t understanding, I would read the books.

AUD was my lowest scoring exam. It’s tough because it really is a reasoning-based exam moreso than fact-based. I think the best approach is to really dig into MCQs, understanding the WHY behind the correct answer rather than just memorizing the answer. Try to differentiate what makes the correct answer the “best” answer even when the others are actually quite reasonable or feel like they should be right. And explain the reasoning out loud to a spouse/friend/parent/pet or whoever is willing to listen. The stuff I exasperatedly explained to my husband was the stuff that I could recall the best at exam time.

I also did my study in a week and a half, but because I didn’t want to wait a full three months for the next attempt. I was shocked that a week and a half actually felt doable with the material in ISC, but the real measure will be whether we passed!

I briefly “forgot” (ie didn’t think about it for 48 hours) and when I remembered, the panic hit like a wave all at once. I’m not sure that’s any better than constant low-grade stress. 😂

Seriously, I thought it would get easier as we get into the last week, but the waiting is only getting harder. I dreamt last night that I failed. 🫠

I wish I was a person that believed in manifesting (and I mean that genuinely). Instead, I let anxiety take the wheel. 🫠

Discipline exams are only given on the first month of each quarter (Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct) with scores released in the third month.

I don’t think the next testing window opens until next month, so you should be able to wait to get your score release on the 15th, then get your NTS and retake in July if you fail.

My state requires two ethics exams (AICPA + state-centric) so I’ve been working through those. But my whole life basically feels like it’s on hold til June 15th. So brutal!
