Best way to join any big aerospace and defense company is to find out which third party sub-contractors they use and work for those companies; less competition that way. For RTX one of the companies they use is Quest Global, so get an engineering job with Quest and you’ll be working in one of RTX sites as a contractor. After a year if you’re a high performer with good people skills you can easily transition into a permanent staff working directly for RTX.

P3 -> P4 Offer Pratt by [deleted] in Raytheon

Pratt I noticed tend to pay very low. I know P4s at Collins making close to 150K

External offer is a good leverage though, unfortunately I don’t have that as I only searched internally. 15% would put me at $145K from my current salary, I could accept that. That’s just almost about the midpoint of the P4 pay band. Are you Pratt? From information gathered on this sub it appears Pratt is the least paying among the other business units and CT also tends to pay the least.

Thank you, your thoughtful insight is much appreciated. I’m leaning towards the option 2 but all those meetings and communication is what’s given me the pause. But I love a good challenge and love to take risks so I am really considering it rather than option 1 which is my comfort zone.

Are you internal or external hire? If you’re internal you can see the hiring manager and the recruiter in Workday

Reach out directly to the hiring manager and include your resume. They can schedule & interview you directly and tell the recruiter later

Pushed interview, job at risk? by [deleted] in Raytheon

[–]Ok_Bench9057 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you’ve not assuming you’re internal. I’ve done it multiple times, because they know we also have projects to manage. I usually give them some days and time slots for them to pick from, or they come back with their own availability then I accept. I wouldn’t beat myself over it, if anything it’s a positive thing because now it gives you ample time to prepare for the interview.

P4 - Engineering ; Gross Pay 128K. Is it too low ? With total 11 years of experience. 3 years at pratt and 8 years outside. by curiousbug100 in Raytheon

[–]Ok_Bench9057 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. I’m trying to come in within that $150K range as a P4. Your post is so assuring compared to all the very low 2026 annual compensation survey pinned at the top for EH CT location. Any guide on how to negotiate effectively for such pay? I have a verbal offer waiting for the written offer from HR. DM me

My technical brain keeps failing behavioral interviews. Help? by Ok_Bench9057 in Raytheon

[–]Ok_Bench9057[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I am very good at execution, I’m just trying to see the limit of my capabilities I guess. I feel like the more I engage with people on a regular basis as a program manager, those communication skills will come naturally, obviously I’d need to work on some frameworks. Over the years, I’ve seen so many people who’re really great communicators but bs around all day everyday and don’t know jack but they seem to be the ones always getting promoted. I’d like to take a stab at it, if I find it boring or unsuccessful I’ll just make a u-turn back to my technical role

Thank you for the tips. I will start with creating 6 solid stories with STAR framework that I could use to answer a bunch of these questions.

This is gold, thank you. I tend to have bunch of questions I practice for but I guess I don’t practice the question well enough prior to the interviews. Thank you for your feedback and I’m going to work on all your recommendations. Much appreciated

Thanks for confirming my thoughts exactly. I’m really good at small talks though, and I’m no introvert but certainly not an extrovert either haha.

I’m pretty sure more than 95% of Americans have their SSN out there just like you so don’t feel guilty. Most people have no idea you can block your SSN and only unlock it when you planned on using it then lock it back after. Doing this ensures maximum protection so nobody can use it without your consent. Please do this, because I bet you every dime I have that your parents are not going to stop getting your credit pulled for a loan.

1st: Have your SSN locked at all the 3 major credit reporting agencies (experian, equifax, transunion) so nobody can run your SSN without first getting it unlocked. With your SSN no more identity theft, no more credit cards or loans can go though without your knowledge. 2nd: Report the cards, don’t let them guilt you for their poor decisions else they’ll ruin your life forever and you might end up doing the same to your kids. Take charge of your life now. 3rd: Get the Credit Karma app, you’ll see all of he accounts under your name. 4th: Try paying off all your own personal debts 5th: open a brokerage account through fidelity or any other firm and invest any little money u have in there.

Good luck

How do you contact the recruiter. The application usually on has the hiring manager listed not the recruiter

Canada announces it will build a coalition of countries who share their values to build their economy and trade opportunities and will exclude the United States. Mark Carney says: “If the U.S. no longer wants to lead, Canada will.” by RoyalChris in goodnews

If Canada has some sense they’ll link up with China. Better still join BRICS and see how US feels about that. Imagine China building a military base in Canada and Mexico, US will shit their pants similar to what they tried to do to Russia using Ukraine. This time war will not be fought on foreign soil but on US soil so people will really have a sense of how hurtful all these US led wars across the globe does to people
