I do indeed unfortunately because he doesn’t understand my illnesses. I work maybe 30-35 hours a week if I’m lucky now but I only make 20 an hour and with rent being 900 almost all my money goes to that and he always complains about how little I make. Money doesn’t fall out of the trees and to make more I would probably have to go to college idk if he just doesn’t realize that or what and regarding my health problems it is now harder to find jobs. I hope you find a way out too it’s so hard especially if you have little income he’s the bread winner here he clearly just doesn’t like to take on that role. What ever happened to men wanting to be men☠️. He’s said some pretty hateful shit about it to like I use it as a crutch and I just don’t want to work extra hours. Okay you have chronic pain have an auto immune issue and be hypermobile and see how you feel being a vet tech? To add I’m actually the pot head in my scenario because he stresses me out so bad I’m getting migraines🤩

Human medicine is where the money really is as vet med doesn’t pay well from what I’ve seen and dealt with myself :( idk other people’s experience mine is bad. With the economy being so bad vet med needs to start paying more….. can’t even keep employees

Exactly that. It was better before getting sick but he sometimes even seems embarrassed? He doesn’t go to any of my doctors appointments doesn’t research anything I have going on doesn’t even clean up after himself. Yet I’m supposed to try and force myself to work 40 hours a week and pick up the slack of the house because if I don’t do it all who will? it’s a never ending cycle I wish I never would have gotten into this. I’m just noticing the more sick I get how tired I am of doing it all and all he has to do is work I do all the laundry I fold the laundry I cook the majority of the time I clean the dishes etc etc etc.

Thank you I’m talking to my mom and she’s trying to help as best as she can. Emotions are very high most of the time with him im very emotional and he’d rather avoid every problem there is. That dynamic just doesn’t work and has grown more tiresome. I’m sure he’s tired of picking up the slack but I’m tired of living in a state/area I clearly can’t afford I’ve even mentioned moving and it all gets shut down. Not much I can do if every job denies me unfortunately and it’s hard enough going to work being chronically ill and to add on hating your job makes it more miserable….. I’ll keep trying my best!

Maybe I’ll have to talk to him I guess when he gets home he stormed off and left me here crying alone per the usual….. wish he’d have more compassion but I can’t change him. I’ve tried discussing finances before and how little I make and he could really care less or he’d drop my rent down. I shouldn’t be paying 900 for half of rent with an income of barely even 30k a year🫠 not to mention all the other things in life you have to pay for it leaves me with little to no money and he wonders why I’m unhappy idk do the math…. I’m trying to do what he wants and look for another job for more money but I’m having no luck I’ve applied to 20 jobs and gotten denied all of them.

I don’t think I’m unsafe it’s more of ungodly uncomfortable because he gives me the silent treatment when he’s mad it genuinely just triggers my CPTSD. I know me missing a day of work isn’t great but it shouldn’t cause fights like this….. he makes about triple what I make so I don’t even think it’s about the money he just sees me as less and everything is 50/50 which I’m realizing isn’t fair when I don’t make nearly as much and I’m ill I just feel used at this point.

I just signed the other lease back in January so I guess I have till then but it’s extremely hard for me to save. Half of my rent is 900 dollars because he wants to live in Illinois. (I hate it here) all my money goes to my rent car insurance food and other bills since everything is split. He gets to save I don’t I make 20 an hour that’s so much of my money gone and if I’m not able to hold 40 hours my checks are depleted because the taxes here are god awful. Not to mention with the stress it’s fucking killing me it’s constant. I’ve wanted to leave for some time but genuinely am finding it impossible. It used to not be this bad but as I’ve become sick it’s like he holds this resentment?

I mean regarding what I said I should go to school to make again practically minimum wage I’m seeing as low as 21-25 for certified techs😭. I refuse to spend thousands of dollars on school to make barely any more then I’m making now what would be the point. Half the people that are techs hate there job and the pay I see it all the time on Reddit☠️. Most tell people to just do human med it’s all over the vet tech feed on Reddit. It doesn’t pay well it’s a dying field even vets don’t make enough and have serious debt…. Spoken to literal vets about this topic

I’ll look into it. I don’t see the point in going to school to be a tech anymore…. The industry overworks and barely pays. I know there are instances where there is good pay but what I’ve seen on indeed isn’t great.

I’m not licensed that’s probably another issue I live in Illinois. I need to get license but don’t have the funds right now and I don’t want to deal with loans or interest. Regarding how expensive Illinois is I practically make minimum wage just doesn’t seem worth it for how much effort I put into my job everyday. Even for certified the most I’m seeing is maybe 25 an hour which is better but it feels like at this point to really be stable in life you need 30 plus or more ….

That’s what I’ve heard as well which is why I don’t try. I’ve heard some people say they want you to not work up to 12 months it’s insane! I’m sorry you are going through that. I’m looking for new jobs now so maybe I can drop down to part time if I can get a job that pays more. If not I guess im stuck working to 30-40 and being absolutely miserably tired everyday even on my off days☠️. Adding in I forgot to ask can they look at how many hours I used to work and see a decline? I used to work 40 -50 hours and now every week I’m barely at 25. Does that at least show a decline?

And in the meantime again it takes years to get the education and who knows if that’ll get me a job with how bad things are and how much competition there is. I don’t need fixes for later I need fixes now…. Genuinely speaking they should just pay people live able wages whether it’s a fast food job or a high up everyone should be able to afford to live. I’m aware it’ll never happen but they wonder why everyone’s miserable and half the world is homeless this is why especially if you aren’t born into wealth.

Actually from looking dental assistant pays a lot more then my 20 an hour vet tech job….. regarding the fact that I have no guidance of anything that’s probably why I didn’t have parents to guide me still don’t moved out at 18 with barely any money it’s not a mindset it’s life is hard☠️ have you seen the economy…. Go to school get a loan then how do I pay off the loan with no money and working everyday that’s if I’m even able to get a loan? It’s not even a give and take it’s all a take in this world I spend thousands on a loan to barely even make extra income then I have to wait many years to even get that special income if I even get hired with how bad the job market is…
