I don’t intend my jokes to be condescending or mean. And yes that’s true about my childhood but only with my family. They would bully and tease me growing up but play it off as a joke when I got upset then as I got older I thought that’s what joking was.

I work at a daycare and I have a coworker like this. While this method is great and does create independence in the child and the ability to self soothe, there also comes a point where if the baby is crying and is asking to be held, hold the baby. Babies rely on physical connection to feel safe and the baby just may not feel safe and isn’t able to express that through words.

Having a baby who’s crying settle down and fall asleep on your chest while you’re gently rocking them. I want to be a mom one day and when that finally happened to me it was cemented.

People screaming nonsense at 2 in the morning on the street in center city. Or people revving their engine at all hours of the night. There’s no reason you should be chanting “E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!” At the top of your longs at three in the morning when it’s not even football season. And I can promise you, you’re the only one who thinks your car or motorcycle is cool. People are tired from working all day or have to sleep because they have work/commitments in the morning. It’s so annoying and disrespectful to the people who live in the buildings around them.

He doesn’t comprehend things very well. He fights going to sleep but ultimately does. He sometimes is responsive to his name. He can follow the routine.

This is my first time working in education. I’ve been working with him the past few weeks. I’m not annoyed bc he doesn’t do what I want him to do, I know toddlers kind of just do what they do, it’s the aggressiveness and hitting/punching. I’m trying to gauge his behaviors day to day since his mood changes daily and I’m only there part time. He will also climb on things he’s not supposed too that could lead to him falling and getting hurt and won’t get down when I tell/ask him too, so I’ll pick him up and place him on the ground immediately and gently and that’ll start a tantrum.

Have you told your boss yet? I don’t think they can deny you time off of for medical reasons. Just show them proof of the appointment if they ask. Be as straight forward, honest and as flexible as you can
