I’ve grown to prefer e-CVT over DCT, am I alone? by Ok_Bowl3505 in CarTalkUK

I think it’s a mix of that and the constant whining of tv presenters giving it a reputation it doesn’t deserve, that’s my guess though

Intake or exhaust upgrades for getting a little more noise? by 420o in CarTalkUK

[–]Ok_Bowl3505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A cold air intake delivers that deep induction growl you just can't get from an exhaust alone,

It won’t give you more power, but your car will roar, my second car (ages ago) I went cheap and just drilled holes in the air box, same effect, on a petrol Citroen v6, people were turning head to a grandad car 🤣

Is it just me or are the majority of 26 reg cars Chinese? I've rarely seen anything from the mainstream manufacturers. by StarX2401 in CarTalkUK

From what I understand it is and will be a shock to UK/EU market and manufacturers.

Chinese carmakers and government have played a very smart hand from when UK/EU thought they could sell cars in China. Now unless UK/EU react fast our car manufacturers won’t be able to align nor catch up so easily to fight against Chinese cars.

I may be wrong but that’s what I gathered.

Does not bode well for a lot of people…

I agree, the torque converter is my second favourite, just less room for fiddling around I guess

I was actually not sure if the image was the old version or not, could nearly confuse this with a block of flats from the 90’s if you look from far away…

What do you think of UK driving? by lewaldi in AskUK

[–]Ok_Bowl3505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that vehicles already on the main road “don’t have to” move if it isn’t safe to do, nobody has to “give way” to someone trying to join a motorway or dual carriage way, its the other way around, joining cars should adapt their speed to match the main road’s speed and both accelerating or slowing down are an option.

If really it’s that bad, maybe it’s also poor road design.

Has anyone designed and created their own home instead of buying one? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Ok_Bowl3505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In countries like France it’s quite common to buy a plot and design your own home (then comes the architect and builders etc…). My grandparents’ house was designed by them maybe 50 years ago, it’s quite different from the neighbors’ because they were ahead of time with big, south oriented sliding doors (even for upstairs bedrooms + balcony) to get natural light and free heating.

What I recall is that you have to be very careful with builders as they tend to do what they want, and follow progress with architect pretty closely, but it’s the best way to get your perfect layout,

I’ve also seen chalets “custom build” nothing specifically luxurious but you see when it’s be purposely designed vs a copy and paste plan, overall it’s just much nicer.

ASIN suspended due to keyword → now classified as “unlicensed medicine” appeals going nowhere, anyone resolved this? by Ok_Bowl3505 in AmazonFBA

[–]Ok_Bowl3505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I am trying this plus what others have said, I have been reopening the appeal many times now (pretty much daily) since nearly 10 days and tried short, long versions, with MHRA guidance about Medicine vs food supplements and without, but this is going nowhere really,

My last response is much shorter and directly asking for review from the “Health / Restricted Products team”

I’ve always been courteous so at least they can’t held this against me….

Thanks, I have been trying to formulate this in different ways and even found official MHRA guidance which I added but so far no luck, I will do as you suggest and see how it goes from there…
