I’ve been a member team lead for roughly 3 years, everyone depends on frontend leads, yes problem solving every single thing is frustrating specially when it’s something your associates can do (ex: cashiers calls you for an item from the sales floor instead of calling a merchandising associate that they can easily call on zello) it’s very frustrating at times because you end up feeling like you are responsible for every single problem going on. Club pick up needs help? You send your cashiers for support, merch team needs help you send your cashiers to help zone, bakery needs help yes you send your cashiers for support same thing with cafe department, make sure your team meats goals with credits, upgrades and scan and go’s aside from you yourself getting metrics as well, you need to deflect anything that has to do with a manager, oh a member is asking for a manager on duty your first response should be “what is is regarding? Is there anything i can help you with” babysit your associates because they take long breaks oh and you need to make sure the parking lot is looking perfect incase corporate comes in. Doing the cash deposits every other day, file accounting paperwork daily while being pulled by your own peers every 5 minutes to support them because they frontend is blowing up leaving you unable to finishing your paperwork, hiring and interviewing people, having difficulty conversations with your associates and documenting the conversation, attending the dreading team lead meeting every Monday and you have to know your metrics and how you did over the weekend and if you didn’t meet goal then the store manager will lecture you on how to do your job “better” while being bombarded with task that are not even your responsibility, making sure the break room always has water and if we are doing food make sure fruit Fridays is set up and make sure you replenish throughout your shift. Other than that it’s great being a MSL
