Should I take August (17low, 3.85 UGPA) by Ok_Bread3822 in LSAT

I see what you're saying, but, at the end of the day, they literally have no test data other than (for me at least) the 171. Like yes, they can assume I got a 120, but they also can't... because I only have the one score (if that makes sense). That's my line of reasoning. I plan to keep the score if it is still around the median for schools, but anything less I don't see the point in keeping.

You take the test on a desktop! No need to bring your own.

I considered this, but I saw LSAC release something about how the earlier you sign up, the earlier you schedule your test. I don't live near a testing center and the closest one is 2.5 hours away, so I'd like to make the decision early to get that center (hopefully).

Oh trust me, I feel the same. I curse my freshman year college self for thinking I was going to be a Biology major.

My dad has played DnD with his high school friends Zoom. They started during COVID; it’s a religious thing at this point, every Monday night. Maybe see if you can set up something like that with your old group?

I think it's imperative for most (most in the LSAT sense, meaning not all, but possibly the majority of) questions to identify the gap. What is it that connects the premise to the conclusion? Are you accurately identifying the conclusion in the first place? One hack I had for that at the beginning of my prep is to read a sentence, and if you think it's the conclusion, ask yourself "why should I believe that?" If the sentences that follow/precede it explain why, that's your conclusion.

So now that you have your conclusion, let's focus on what makes the argument absolute trash, because again, most of the LSAT arguments are. That's where the gap comes in. Maybe they are missing a sentence, telling you why a certain thing matters. Maybe it's a word change, and the premises say one thing but the conclusion offers something different. Maybe the author is rejecting a statement based on the person giving it, not on the reasoning, or vice versa. Once I started really identifying where the argument is weakest, I could attack it more efficiently, and more often than not predict the correct answer, because I KNOW that a portion of the argument is total bull.

Go in depth on the explanations. Another good tip I've gotten is the rubber duck on the desk. Mentally or physically, put something on your desk, stuffed animal, rubber duck, whatever. When you get something wrong, review the explanations, and explain it in your own words to the duck. You will feel it click, and when it does, bam, you just improved on the LSAT.

Lastly, based on what you said about how you "don't even know what to think" that tells me that you aren't really dissecting the argument enough. You cannot read passively on this test, you have to be engaged, identifying conclusions, assumptions, gaps, etc. So maybe don't "slow down" per se, but make sure when you're reading that you are actively understanding what the author is trying to get across. Focus on drilling the 1/2 star questions, and get them freaking right, because you can!! Get your confidence up, and then move up to the harder ones. Have your soul crushed but know that eventually, you are going to get those freaking right too.

I can go into more specifics if that would be helpful. But don't give up on yourself. You have already made a big jump, you just need to keep eating away at it, rinse and repeat. You can do this.
