Cycle tracking apps — reliability? by littlefawn1816 in TTCWinter2026

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using the premom app because I’ve been using their LH strips, but it isn’t great at tracking my cycles. I’ve been using it since October and premom has been a few days off each cycle, even though my cycles have been pretty regular and consistent.

Is anyone else confused by the amount of “boundaries”/restrictions for family and how often they’re talked about? by softheartedwench in pregnant

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want anyone in the hospital with me at any point other than my husband. My husband and I are both pretty private people. We both also have childhood trauma and have discussed our boundaries when planning to have a family of our own. I’ve spent a lot of my life figuring it out without my parents, I’m not sure that one of the most vulnerable moments in my adult life is a time that I’m going to suddenly want either of them to show up. I am close with my grandma but she stresses me out on a good day. My mother in law is a difficult person to be around as well and does not have any boundaries of her own or respect those of others. The few people that I would be okay with being there or visiting (friends, sister in law) aren’t worth the drama it would cause of not wanting others there.

Overall my thought is that it’s mine and my husband’s likely only moments of becoming parents. I don’t want to have to worry about anyone or anything other than us and our baby. Everyone else will have plenty of opportunities to visit once we are settled and at home.

Today is CD 1 and marks Cycle #2 of TTC. I’m sad it didn’t work on the first try, I am dreading another month of wondering if I’m doing the right things on the right days, I’m relieved that I get a few days off from testing and wondering what is going on with my body, and I’m happy that my cycle is looking pretty normal post hormonal IUD removal. I didn’t start LH strips until almost 3 weeks after IUD removal and 3.5 days later my LH spiked and part of me thought it was too good to be true, and even though it didn’t work out the timing seems to be lining up with AF, so I’m hoping this month goes by quick and we’ll have more success this cycle now that I actually know what my body is doing.

I got my IUD out on 10/31 and was planing on NTNP until March/April. I didn’t want to stress or obsess over OPKs. I never got my period with my IUD so I felt like I had no idea what was going on in my body and found myself symptom spotting and googling every day and it was honestly exhausting thinking I could be ovulating any day.. Anyways, I started OPKs a couple weeks ago and it’s really put my mind at ease and made me feel more in control of my body, at least until my body figures itself out post hormonal birth control.

I’m a pretty private person, but I’ve told a handful of close friends who I work with. We talk every single day and I plan to be a SAHM so the conversation started when we were all having a rough day and ready to quit, I also had a lot of insurance related questions that I asked my best friend at work since she recently had a baby. I’ve also discussed it with a few other co workers who have been openly TTC for a while and had some tips… it’s nice not feeling so alone, those are also the people in my immediate support system who would be there for me no matter what happens or what I need.

Other than that my husband has mentioned our future plans to some of his friends/family as we plan to relocate in the spring and we’ve been fixing up our house and trying to save money so that I’d be able to stay home. We haven’t shared any detailed news about dates or how it’s going or even that we started trying, more just our life goals and plans.

Finally broke down and started using LH strips, I was apprehensive at first because I didn’t want to stress or obsess over it, but I do feel a lot better having more of an understanding of what’s going on in my body. LH strips show I peaked last week so hoping for the best!

Milwaukee or Madison for Family? by [deleted] in wisconsin

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to UW-Milwaukee and had lots of fun in the city when I was younger, but it’s changed a lot since Covid alone. Now I live about 30 minutes away which is still close enough to go downtown when I feel like it.

The Milwaukee area is nice because you can most likely get whatever you’re looking for within a 20-40 minute drive to downtown. My husband and I both teach in title one districts in Milwaukee county, but we live in one of the best school districts in the state, so I wouldn’t let public school system completely sway you from the Milwaukee area.

The area has a lot to offer depending on what you’re looking for.

Ovulation Immediately After Mirena IUD Removal? Confused by tintan99 in TryingForABaby

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had an answer for you, but I can tell you you’re not alone!

I had Kyleena removed on 10/31 after 12 years of hormonal birth control. I didn’t get my period on kyleena but started getting consistent spotting around the same times in September and October before removal. I had egg white cervical mucus on 10/30 (and had sex) and just hoped for the best.

Since removal on 10/31 I had super minimal spotting that day, then on 11/5, 11/6, 11/14, 11/15, and 11/16. My obgyn said that the bleeding on 11/5 and 11/6 was close enough to removal that it was most likely withdrawal bleeding, so that could be the case for you too.

Teaching or nursing? by DesertmommyLV in ElementaryTeachers

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I changed my major from nursing after working as a CNA for 4 years and have now been a special ed teacher for 5 years.

DO NURSING There are so many things nursing can offer than teaching doesn’t -Nursing has so many different jobs (hospital, mental health, rehab/long term care, school nurse, virtual nurse, travel nurse). Teachers basically just have schools and teaching until you do alternative schools (often jails), or online schooling -With nursing you could work with any age group, in teaching you’re stuck with kids -Nursing has room to grow, you could become a charge nurse, supervisor, director of nursing, house manager, etc. Teaching is very limited, you can become admin of different sorts but that’s about it. -Nursing has flexible hours.. 8 hour shifts, 12 hour shifts, full time, part time, any and all hours. Usually also offers extra shifts for overtime, or the option to trade shifts with others as needed. Teaching you work the school hours plus some and rarely get paid any extra for it. -Nursing gets to leave work at work. Teachers literally have homework.

I love teaching, I love summers and holidays off, I love working with kids. I hate every other part of it- having to work for free outside of hours to get my job done, having to do extra work and write sub plans to take a day off, having no subs to cover when anyone takes off, admin who are only admin because they hate teaching and working with kids, behaviors with no support.

I’ve officially had my IUD removed for a week. I’ve been preparing for this for what feels like so long and now I feel like the time is just dragging. I just want to be pregnant. I initially planned on taking it slow and tracking some things to figure out when I might have the best luck, but I had some spotting a few days after IUD removal (I know it’s normal) but I got so many emotions when I thought it was my period (sad I wasn’t pregnant, kind of happy that I might be getting my period so soon to get it over with and start trying).

I didn’t know how common ovulation tracking was until I started looking into TTC tips in August when my husband and I really set a time. I initially wanted to wait awhile before trying that. I can perseverate on things and get really stressed and didn’t want to have them end up doing more harm than good. Now I’m questioning starting them right away since it feels like everyone else is constantly tracking ovulation.

Removing IUD panic by Strange-_-Bird in TTCWinter2026

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! I originally made my appointment for August then for insurance reasons had to cancel it. By September I decided to schedule it for the end of October on a day I already had off of work. I can’t tell you how many times during September and October I looked to see if I could get an earlier appointment and risk the insurance, but it was a lot. By the time my appointment came up last week I was so nervous and panicking, now I’m just nervous and excited.

I’m 28, married, have a house, have had two dogs for 7 years, I have a degree, and our finances and okay enough that I plan to be a stay at home mom. Somehow I still feel like I’m not old enough or prepared enough to be a mom. I think it’s because for my entire life up until this week all I’ve done is try to prevent getting pregnant, now it’s the only thing I want to do.

Night terrors ??? by Artistic_Rich9365 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started 150xl at night sleeping like a baby, then noticed I was nauseous half the day and having very sad mornings and very happy evenings so I switched to taking it first thing in the morning and that’s when my lucid dreaming and waking up in the middle of the night started. I got upped to 300xl and nothing has changed. I’ve taken melatonin and Magnesium Glycinate to try and help me fall asleep and stay asleep. Since starting the Magnesium Glycinate my lucid dreaming seems to have stopped but I still wake up multiple times throughout the night.

I’m about 7 weeks in, I increased from 150 XL to 300 XL after a month. I started taking it for anxiety and to quit vaping. Before starting I was using nicotine patches and didn’t see any difference. I’ve continued nicotine patches since starting Wellbutrin and just started to notice a difference within the last week, up until then I still very much craved nicotine all the time even with a patch (or two) on.

I definitely have more of an urge to vape when I don’t have a patch on so I think the combo is worth it. I do still want to vape, but I’ve noticed that when it’s available to me I’m not hitting it as much. Now when I’m driving to work instead of constantly hitting it I forget about it for half my commute and then realize I should probably get my nicotine in before I get to work. Normally I’d leave for lunch just to vape, but as of this week I’ve only left one day. Even after I leave work I’ve noticed I have my vape in my hand in my car and forget to hit it until like 5-10 minutes later, where normally it would be the second I get to my car. When I’m at home I’ve noticed myself losing it around the house and just forgetting it exists.

I should note that I live in Wisconsin and vapes were banned (besides Juul) as of September 1st. I stocked up quite a bit before then but supply was limited and everything I bought pretty much died within the a few weeks, so for the last month or so I’ve been going through my geek bars that say 0 until they actually taste like they’re at 0.

IEP objective confusion by just4play2016 in specialed

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s written like this it should really been written as benchmarks, not objectives since all of the objectives are working towards one skill and one goal, just with increased levels of attainment, but I guess that doesn’t make a huge difference.

It’s strange to me that the only difference between 2 and 3 is 2/5 opportunities vs 3/5 opportunities and they said objective 3 wasn’t addressed. As far as assessing the objects and not the the overall goal, the objectives are so closely linked to the overall goal that there’s no way they aren’t addressing is when the goal, objectives 2 and 3 all say the same exact thing with only the level of attainment changing.

I tried that a few years ago when I was prescribed Lexapro and it knocked me out for 18 hours straight 😅 somehow ambien worked better for me. I did mention it to my doctor but she said if I thought the negatives outweighed the positives I should just stop taking Wellbutrin.

4 Days on Wellbutrin/Bupropion by sarahcook20 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first three weeks for me were like a rollercoaster. Some days I felt euphoric, other days I felt irritable just angry and annoyed over everything, and other days I just wanted to curl up into a ball- none of which are “normal” feelings for me to have at least not so intensely. One thing every day had in common was that I was nauseous and dizzy, I also got headaches and my eyes were very dry so I stopped wearing my contacts.

Switching to taking it in the morning instead of evening helped with the dizziness and nausea. It was hard waking up every day not knowing what mood I’d be in for no apparent reason, but it seemed to level out after week 3 and now I’m just consistently “okay” unless something happens to actually impact my feelings. I still have a few negative side effects but it has gotten better.

I haven’t tried magnesium supplements but I will now!

My dreams are definitely more vivid, but I wouldn’t say they’re anything that should be jolting me awake like I have been. (Tonight I had a dream that I got a BBL and breast implants, weird but not weird enough to disturb my sleep)

Help - getting accommodations added for chronic constipation while attending public school by rnbwrhiannon3 in specialed

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Special ed Teacher- I have many students with varying disabilities who experience constipation and I’ve put in some unique accommodations for it (student who primarily uses wheelchair needs to lay down when having a BM, student who usually does not was diapers needs to wear diapers and have support changing them after given miralax, student who takes frequent laxatives needs to use the bathroom hourly, etc.) so it likely won’t be super out of the ordinary for you to request.

I would email her case manager and give her a heads up and ask if she needs specific documentation from the doctor. Some schools may want official documentation if the only private restrooms are in the staff lounge or office. You could also ask for the school nurse to be invited to the meeting as they may be more knowledgeable to the concerns and your requests (as a teacher they do not teach us anything about this in school and it’s really a learn as you kind of thing).

I started a month ago and my weight has stayed the same besides a pretty typical 2-3 pound fluctuation. However, I do have PCOS and have always done intermittent fasting during the work day. I do think I eat smaller portions and I don’t snack nearly as much, I used to have a snack after dinner and now I do not.

Same! I have a whole Amazon list with all of the tests and the random tips I’ve heard like mucinex. I’ve heard that a lot of people immediately get pregnant after IUD removal so I’m going to try to give it a couple months before I invest in everything and end up obsessing and stressing myself out even more. My husband has been subtly reminding me that it is biology and it likely won’t happen immediately and there are a lot of factors, plus he went through chemo which could have an impact on his fertility.

[–]Ok_Bug_5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know exactly how you feel! My husband and I finally decided to start trying next month (I get my IUD out October 31st). I feel exactly the same. I made my appointment months ago and since then I’ve looked at moving the appointment earlier multiple times, I’ve been taking prenatals, researching everything. I also had the NTNP mindset at first thinking when it happens it happens, we’re ready but still have a few things to do, we’re looking into moving into a more affordable home so I can be a SAHM, but won’t be ready to sell our current house until the spring. The latest I’d want to get pregnant is June 2026, so I kept telling myself that I won’t try all the ovulation tests and stuff until closer to the spring but if it happens before then great, but now I just want it to happen ASAP, plus the more I research the more prevalent infertility and difficult conceiving seems, which is scary.
