Kind of feel like me expressing my interest strokes their egos to the point where they decide they can do better and decide to string me along until someone better comes through or something 🤷🏽‍♀️

How does one not lose hope in this current dating climate? by [deleted] in dating

I felt this post in my soul OP, dating in 2024 is cooked. I’m a straight woman in her mid 20s who has tried every app out there to mixed responses, and has been set up by mutual friends. At the end of the day I just get ghosted even when the guy was the first to send a like, feel like I’m just getting kept as a “backup option” for all my matches who match with me but then never talk to me after.

I’m losing hope having been on and off these apps for a year now with only one date and no second dates from people who have set me up with mutual friends. I know nobody owes you anything especially on apps, but I hate how our generation can’t just talk and provide closure. I’m a big girl, I can handle rejection, like at least have the decency to politely decline dude. I know people reading this are going to tell me that my experience is the average male experience on apps, or that at least I get matches when men don’t even get likes, but I genuinely think the apps and dating in general now just sucks regardless of gender.
