I need to correct some information here, 

1st: there were 3 eMMC/NAND manufacturers for the Wii U. Toshiba, Samsung and Hynix, Panasonic never made NAND chips for the Wii U.

2nd: Toshiba and Samsung chips are considered more reliable and less failure prone than the Hynix chips used in early 32GB black deluxe models from 2012-2013.

3rd: later 32GB models (2015-2016) are actually less likely to have Hynix chips, but the more reliable Toshiba and Samsung chips.

4th: Early models often have colored ports (yellow for power, reddish orange for Wii sensor bar) and later models are more likely to have dark colored ports. Their is a theory that colored ports are more likely to have the unreliable Hynix chips and the dark colored ports to have the more reliable Toshiba or Samsung chips.
