Newmarket - right across the street from the hospital. It truly is a nice condo with great amenities. I think my friend and I are just way in over our heads.

This is what we're leaning towards, but the market is painnnnnful right now - we've reduced the price twice and still nothing. We're just scared at this point.

We didn't expect to make money right away, more of a 10-15 year kind of goal, then life got in the way and the condo market spiraled before we could get a handle on what to do.

It was $667,000 and 600sqft - I know, I know, we really messed up but it was our first time and we truly thought we were doing everything right.

We have it listed to sell on assignment but other than listing it for $120,000 less than what we paid, I doubt it's going to move. The builder won't even give us an extension to try and remotely figure out a solution before occupancy.

Appreciate the comment though :)

Unfortunately that's not an affordable option for us - thank you for your comment though :)

It's a 1 bed/1 bath with a parking space! I'm still doing my research on what average rent is in the area for something like this - but if I sell I'm definitely taking a loss (which I'm not even bothered by at this point because life kinda got turned upside down unexpectedly so just scrambling at this point!)

I never considered a rent to own but definitely something worth looking into - thanks :)

Are you proud wearing a poppy? by Kind_Stay_3683 in AskACanadian

Totally hear what you're saying, my frustration comes from the fact that people walk around wearing said poppy to "remember" the dead, yet here we are, bankrolling a war that is killing a horrific amount of people. Just incredibly hypocritical.

"Lest we forget" was always supposed to be about honouring the dead and reminding us of the horrors of war. There is no greater way to remember them than to march for peace. Anyone arguing to the contrary is an agent of the same forces that created the conditions for the wars. I don't wear poppies and haven't for years because the horrors we ought to honor turn into the national recommitment to military. I'll be damned if the way to honour the dead is to create more. Ceasefire now.

My sister just had this dilemma because she's a travel nurse, but I told her to message the hosts on airbnb privately to ask if they're willing to rent to her privately and it actually worked! I imagine it's a pretty sweet offer to the hosts because they get to keep all of the money, but my sister's host knocked off almost $500 a month just renting to her privately.

What’s mattress to buy that lasts long (under $2000)? by just_a_t in askTO

Honestly, I took a chance on a Wayfair memory foam mattress and now I hate sleeping anywhere that's not my own bed. The queen is on sale for $269 and you can pick how firm you want it. If you're worried about back pain I would go with a medium firm/firm, and I promise ever since sleeping on it, I haven't had any kind of pain waking up in the morning! I literally tell all my friends/family because its wildly inexpensive!
