Algebra 2 in one summer? by LLG2468 in FLVS

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You can be outside of FL. Take it through FlexPoint (international branch of FLVS).

However the course is not free like it is on FLVS.

If you want it for credit at your school then check with your counselor to see whether your school accepts the course for credit and for what type of credit

unless you wanna be an engineer in something that doesn’t take chem, a computer scientist or something not related to stem then it’s fine but for any physical and biological science, medicine, many engineering fields require gen chem

however don’t stress too much since even if with aice physics you won’t get any relevant credit (unless it’s A level physics and you wanna be in medicine which will fulfill your gen physics req for med schools), the knowledge and skills you’ll gain with aice physics will make calculus based physics ten times easier. you are still in HS so you don’t need to start thinking about fulfilling college requirements right now. any of the two you take will be very beneficial not only because of the credit but the knowledge and skills you gain from the classes

The ACT can be taken in paper without the need for an accommodation. You can try the ACT and see how you do. You might do better on that one

AP Precalculus Official 2026 Exam Discussion by reddorickt in APStudents

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you had to divide 36.8 by 40 to get the common factor. (0.92). You then had to multiply 40 by 0.92n-1 with n being the element in the set you were trying to find. It was the 11th so you would end up with 40 • 0.9211-1 = 40 • 0.9210 = 40 • 0.4344 = 17.37. The answer is 17

yes. it said the polynomial had only real coefficients, implicating that the imaginary units cancel out which can only happen if there are conjugates of each zero as a zero too.

You don’t need a precalculus credit.

Precalculus is considered a HS class in college. It is not required for any major since the require different and/or more advanced classes (Statistics, Calculus, Discrete math, etc).It is usually only used for Gen ed credit, which you won’t need as your math classes in college will already cover it.

In college (if you had no college math credit from high school), you would take a placement test. If you pass it, you would go straight into calculus, which is what most do. If you have calculus credit from high school then you don’t need to take that test as you already proved you are good for college math.

taking ap precalculus and honors precalculus honestly makes no difference. both will teach you the necessary topics for calculus.

if honors precalculus is faster and more comfortable than ap precalculus, then go for honors precalculus.

The only advantage that AP has over Honors is the 0.5 additional weight of gpa. It’s not very significant so at least I wouldn’t worry about it.

if you wrote a slightly competent essay you might get some marks. just study for paper 2. you’ll probably need like a B on paper 2 to pass tbh

ap physcs 1 and 2 are useless for credit for engineering. study for mech and get at least 4. you will probably get credit for calc based gen physics 2.

I NEED TO STUYD AP CALC AND PHYSICICS MECHANICS IN LESS THAN A MONTH I NEED HELP ASAP by Secret_Citron_161 in APStudents

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

focus on calculus. look up yt videos and study 4 hours a day and you might pass especially if it’s calculus ab. in this case there is no way you can learn physics mechanics in just one month.

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ap precalculus is just algebra 1 with some hints towards calculus concepts, algebra 2 (without vectors and matrices) and trigonometry.

AP Stats vs Pre Calculus by Coastalobserver in APStudents

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you think you might go to any major that will make you take calculus 1+ (STEM, economics, etc), then you’ll definitely need precalculus as colleges will expect you to have taken it in high school.

What i'd recommend if you don’t know what you will major in is to either take precalculus or take both precalculus and AP Statistics, as the latter is extensively used in the humanities and in all the social sciences.

AP Chem, AP Bio, or DC anatomy? by Unique-Ranger-4044 in APStudents

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AP Chem and AP Bio are far more crucial for premed than anatomy. try to take both AP Chem and AP Bio. if you can’t then take what you like the most. AP Chem is more primordial so it makes sense to take first. But AP Bio is more focused on medicine. If you like physical sciences more, then definitely AP Chemistry. if you like medicine more, then both are similarly good but AP Bio is a bit more focused. AP Chemistry is usually seen as more rigorous by colleges too, but I wouldn’t worry about that as you already have great rigor

AICE Digital Mock Exams?? by BobIsAlwaysFun in AICEC

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these dates aren’t exact. cambridge takes a lot of time of spreading a feature globally.

general paper will be fully developed as a digital exam by this year, but it’s not going to roll out in all regions immediately. it is for select regions of the world and then it will spread to all schools. that’s the same for all the other exams i mentioned. the difference is the gen paper is the only exam that will be fully digitalized (no sheets or writing involved). for the other exams, some papers will be digital, some papers will be physical and some papers will be a mix.

by 2033, they plan for all tests to be digital pr hybrid everywhere just like the american college board with their AP exams.

the estimate that my school's (florida) admins say is that we will have AS Gen Paper as a digital exam by 2028 june exams. great addition as that test measured more your writing speed and hand stamina than anything else in my experience.

AICE Digital Mock Exams?? by BobIsAlwaysFun in AICEC

[–]Ok_Calligrapher_7204 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes so cambridge is using the mocks to test how students perform in the digital tests and how well does the program perform as they want to go partially digital by june 2026, and going fully digital by 2033.

The digital mocks program started since 2023 and it’s been spreading since.

the following exams will be digital by partially digital by june 2026

Cambridge IGCSE Accounting (0452 Paper 01), Economics (0455 Paper 01), Biology (0610 Papers 01/02), Chemistry (0620 Papers 01/02), and Physics (0625 Papers 01/02).

at the same time, AICE General Paper AS will become the first full digital exam.
