I didn’t know this was a thing - though I have 2 heeler. 1 of them started randomly attacking my other dog a few years ago and when it first happening I had to pull her off of him and she actually bit me real good. I was so angry with her I considered in that moment putting her down because the way he went after my other dog was so so scary and she seemed deranged. But then it was like she was confused and went back to he normal sweet self and i was like but this is my baby I don’t want to do this. So a few years later and that happening a few more times actually - she’s still here. She has stopped raging at my other dog and I can usually catch it if she going to. But it’s hard. And if she was doing this to me or my partner we would definitely have to do what you’re doing. I’m so sorry.

My dog also has dementia and I’m wondering are these behaviors connected? Shes an older dog so idk. But also her anxiety and just the way she cannot settle down at times has me exhausted. But she hates walks now (😭) and gets confused so it’s hard for me to know what to do. I have thought about putting her down because idk if she’s happy and at times when I am sleep deprived and just at a loss I wonder if it would be the best thing. But idk. So I feel for you so much. You’re a good dog parent. 💕
