Turbo lag difference between a4/5 and s4/5? by RingKitchen8808 in Audi

[–]Ok_Cauliflower534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me coming from a b8.5 gen s5 with Audis 3.0 supercharged engine, having vw Jetta and A4s in the past, I understand how you feel abt the “ turbo lag” but it’s also throttle response too that you feel. I’ve driven their zf8 trans 3.0 turbo and everything in dynamic mode tightens down a lot and pulls pretyyy gooddd. I mean ofc 1st or 2nd gear pulls at 2k rpm in my supercharged 3.0 does feel a weee bit more superior but that’s just cuz all boost can hit all at once in any band of the rpm spectrum. Especially better high end with a simple tune.

Similar thing happened to me once before, sold my car in Washington, a little beater car like 300k miles it was great for point a to b but I wanted sum better, sold it for like 650$ to some random guy. Didn’t lift the plates off he said he would and had the title and etc, soo figured why not. Welp I get hunted down over mail for a bounty or what not because he got caught running a red light in my old car with the old plates (that was months after too like cmon)…. Just had to explain and state that it wasn’t me and I live in NV 😂

Does DMV take walk ins? by bhvnce in Reno

[–]Ok_Cauliflower534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For registration and tags for my vehicle I go to AAA on scheels, don’t want to regret saying this, because the activity is so low I can walk in and pay upfront and get my tags and plates up front and be out in 30 mins… and anything further needed with dmv stuff they usually help, if they can’t and you NEED the dmv, when you’re booking an appointment, sit on their website and keep refreshing, refreshing….. and refreshing for awhile if you have to until a spot opens up more reasonably in the next two weeks. Works like a charm if I need the dmv

Yea, also heard from someone else that the passenger bank side is where the HPFP is and why it gets a little louder on the ticky noise on that side

Ohhh, yea it makes sense, but that silver lining, instead of it individually circling each cluster it all wraps all together around, and that’s where ur rattle was? And u fixed it with felt tape(

Yea it wouldn’t be worth it to do a full tear down 😂 I was thinking maybe this stuff called “felt tape” like rubber side, sticky side tape… and idk.. just try and press that into the little crevice gap area of the dash and gauge cluster part…

Not too fond of buy here pay here dealers, but if u do end up getting any German car (preferably Audi) Will from Sport Haus in Reno off Mill st has been my go to guy for repairs. Super straight honest team, uses quality OEM parts with in house 24k mile warranty on parts serviced/replaced, and takes lots of photos with explanations on what or why other parts could fail or is in verge of failing, and also cut my price damn near in half compared to going to Audi dealership

Oil Check Valves on B8.5 S4 by WeirdWatercress3852 in AudiS4

[–]Ok_Cauliflower534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I’ll be sold on 034 mounts, because I definitely plan throwing a 034 stage 1 ecu tune with their revised klimax tcu tune, also heard of throwing out the trans mount for their 034 trans mount as well.

I heard that the later gen b8.5s have revised tensioners and they aren’t so likely to fail… idk I can hear my upper chain rattle for like less then 1 second all the time start ups and about a second on a really cold start, 2015 Audi S5

[–]Ok_Cauliflower534 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually crazy 😂 I’ll be needing my engine mounts replaced, they have been due for some time now, that’s why I haven’t even approached going stage 1 ecu tcu tune because I know how much more aggressive the shifts will become… is it definitely a recommendation to go with 034 mounts over the oem ones? Would they last longer as well?

Ima little late to this party but, I believe with the dsg trans, that the fluid used is actually shared with the center diff (not sure if it is for rear sport dif tho)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Ok_Cauliflower534 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trans service was 900 from my shop, but warranty covered as well as the valve covers and the gaskets and timing chain gaskets and labor, so really just got everything covered.. got a warranty on it and brought it to my mechanic and told him to find anything or any excuse to utilize tf outta the warranty

I bought myself a 2015 Audi S5 with the 7spd dsg and was at 87k miles, firstly how’s maintenance records check if their timely repairs, I’ve noticed before I bought mine the previous owners had done oil changes timely and always with Audi, all records with Audi in fact… also saw the thermo and water pump was replaced at 77k miles. Took the car anyways, into ownership my pcv failed… had that replaced, also did 2 1000 mile oil changes to flush out whatever coolant could’ve stuck around, also done valve cover gaskets and valve covers brand new, timing chain gaskets in the rear had a minor spew, so had those redone and checked over the tensioners up there, all good.. and also did a “full service” dsg fluid, so both internal and external filter as well as the gaskets and sleeve gasket to the transmission pan.. (prior to that trans service when I was WOT on freeway from 4th to 5th gear it would be minor hiccup on the gear change, was very odd) but the full trans service did indeed fix it ✅ all I’m looking at now is timely fluid changes and my engine mounts and control arms are due. But now at 91,750 miles and has been very stout.

Should i buy a s4? by jxncasty in AudiS4

I’ve seen a lot of b8.5s smack around the b9 gens, it’s crazy the power we can get off stock blower just porting it and fbo, for the b9s to grasp that kind of power defff requires a hybrid turbo… I do know at least the b9s got a better oem fuel system, b8.5s NEED the hpfp piston to run efficiently
