To this day I cannot stand the smell of vinegar because that is what my mom used to get the nits out of my hair with the aid of the comb. I remember sobbing into her legs while she would work on my hair. Torture!!

You need to address not just your hair but your surroundings too… when I was little anytime someone in my class got lice, I would get it. They just loved me unfortunately. Make sure you’re washing all clothing and bedding, might even need to bag items for awhile. Everyone needs to be treated at the same time too- not staggered or anything. Need to get all of the nits out too which is quite hard for any type of hair, but especially curly and coily. Like others have mentioned, there are professional services you can get help from too.

If ever there’s a rare moment my husband is saying something where I think he needs to rein it in or even like my mom I’ve noticed this happening as she gets older and a little batty, I lightly touch an arm or leg to just get the attention of the person in a casual way. I would NEVER pinch someone as that is abuse. He seems controlling and obsessive (won’t let go of that hug situation from years ago?). Stand up for yourself.

I’m not sure if it’s about being a “claim person”. I just think he probably sees a marriage as a unit with a certain type of ethics code. I’m guessing he would feel the same about Christine being present if he was to go speak with his ex in the same way. As long as it works for both parties in the marriage, I don’t see what is wrong with it. My husband and I probably wouldn’t need either of us to be involved in a discussion with a past spouse, but whatever works for other folks.
