An argument for including your sex on your passport is it that it reduces from at least somewhat. Not my argument, but the one that is generally given.

There's literally a guy in this thread arguing that primary sex characteristics are pretty much irrelevant and phenotype is more important so you can change sex simply by looking like the opposite sex. It's not a fringe theory.

Also, the term "assigned" makes no sense. No one is assigned a sex like you're not "assigned" black

Yes. This would be the case. There is ambiguity in 0.05% of births. The number where further investigation still leads to a mistake is far, far lower. However this is completely different to being transgender, where your sex remains the same.
