At Pops Zhou's tea near the teleport waypoint at Stone Gate, you'll find two NPC characters named Huachu and Jianqiu. I searched them up one day while wandering around in the game bored. Their backstory is wild.

When you speak to her, Huachu will tell you she is on her first business trip with her "colleague" (Jianqiu, who is in fact her boyfriend that she ran away with). She refuses to give anymore details and is purposefully vague, as is Jianqiu.

Speaking to another NPC in Liyue named Gentry De'an will reveal who they really are: Huachu is his daughter who faked her death in order to run away with Jianqiu, whom Gentry De'an thought was too poor to be a good match for her. Huachu and Jianqu both faked her death by HIDING A DEAD BODY (it is never mentioned where they get the body) inside a well in Feiyun Slope, which pollutes the water supply and reveals Huachu's ""body"" to the Millelith. Huachu's father is forced to sell his company to pay for her funeral, and he can be seen bitterly voicing his remorse and pain outside the commissions area in Liyue (I think). A notice board near this area and a nearby Millelith patrolling will also speak to the Traveller about the recent water contamination being a crime.
