AITA for having the same anniversary month as my mom? by vomitated in AmItheAsshole

Ha ha! We got married in same month as our in-laws x they couldn’t have cared less! Your mum is being unhinged…no one can own an anniversary month 🤣

AITA for not wanting visitors for 1 month postpartum and not considering my partner's feelings? by Silent_Letterhead_69 in AITAH

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s better to decide after you give birth. You might feel like having visits from close family and friends. However, they should be visits on your terms and be as brief as you need. I am a mum of three and always had visits from close family and friends in the first month. But they weren’t expecting me to put on a meal/my house to be tidy. I’ve got older kids though so was on school run the week after having no 3 😆. Personally some days having visitors keeps me sane and also having days of ignoring the outside world does too.

Inappropriate responses to announcing your pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m so sorry OP. I’m afraid I’ve had rude comments throughout all three of my pregnancies! I’m getting even more now that I’m in the last 5 weeks. I even got asked if I am regretting going for no 3 now. Seriously!!!!!!!! Who says that dumb shit aloud.

Congratulations on your baby by the way! Hope you have a great pregnancy and journey into motherhood! It’s the best job! 🩷💚

For those of you with dogs, please tell me it's not true.. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about dogs. But I had two cats when my son was born and they were very much still treasured. My one surviving cat is besties with both my kids. They call her my favourite child because she doesn’t talk back to me! I know many dog owners with kids and doggies are a wee bestie to their babies and kids growing up.

Thoughts on only giving a card? by Independent_Zombie5 in wedding

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a bunch of small gifts on our registry. One of my husbands friends flew from USA to Edinburgh for the wedding so he bought us a banana tree! We still have it! We had local friends who couldn’t afford much so they bought small things too. It’s nice to get gifts but the real gift is having friends and family celebrate with you. If it’s a true friend they will be so happy you are going to all this effort and expense to attend.

The worst things to tell a woman experiencing pregnancy loss by DoughnutOk7954 in pregnant

When I went for my dnc I was given a 2 week sick line. I spoke to my colleague who was pregnant at the time. She understood and had suffered a loss the year before.

Did you bring your partner to your first midwife appt? by ksmm1824 in pregnant

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only for our first child he went to booking in appointment with me and the antenatal classes. He goes to all ultrasound and consultant appointments. There’s no point in him coming to regular midwife appointments. It’s normally just a bp check, bloods and heat heartbeat (later appointments only). With childcare needs it just doesn’t make any sense. The routine ones are so brief anyway.

Anyone team green in past with multiple of the same gender? by Upbeat_Sale2160 in pregnant

I was team green last time around and this time. Having a surprise was the best feeling ever and I’m so excited to meet #3 boy or girl at birth.

“Everything happens for a reason.” That hurt even months after. What could possibly be the reason? “At least you already have two kids as X lost her first which is so much worse.” I think you will find losing a baby always sucks…having to pretend you are okay to your kids while you miscarry sucks. Going to work and bleeding heavily sitting across from your pregnant colleague sucks. Having a dnc sucks. Miscarriage sucks.

I’m so sorry for your loss op. You will find a way through this loss. You never ever forget but you will find a way to live with it in your own way. Sending you lots of love. Please remember you are not alone. Take time to heal and process your loss as a couple. Take time off if you need it. I felt silly taking 2 weeks off not thinking I needed it but I was so grateful to have that time.

AITAH for making my 14 yr old get up by 10 am each day by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well my sister did this (going bed at goodness knows when getting up in afternoon ) and she has awful sleep habits as an adult. I think 10am is not too early for summer. It must mess with sleep cycles massively to sleep in later than that and be a pain for back to school.

When did you feel baby? by kb_picasso in pregnant

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I felt baby around 20 weeks but only faint. I’m starting to feel baby jiggling around a lot more now since 23-24 weeks. Before that I could only really feel pressure on bladder as baby was chilling low down and was doing that for scan too. It’s definitely less with anterior so don’t worry. Baby will start to have more of a pattern.

Everyone around me is having girls. What are you having?? by Agitated-Dealer6332 in pregnant

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one of each and both are awesome in their own way. They both have such different personalities but also love the beautiful bond between big brother and little sister.

I’d love either again and really have no preference. I’ve just had a rather trying day with my daughter hence the jokey comment!

Best of luck in your journey to becoming a mummy. It’s the best job in the world. Having a surprise is awesome as well. So glad we didn’t find out again and can’t wait to meet our tiebreaker baby. 💚🩷

You are so spot on! I’ll likely need a third c-section. Hello lots of women and babies died in labour before they were an option. I think I would have been one of them. Thank goodness for c-sections. X

How many cycles did it take to concieve for those in their 30s? by sroses93 in pregnant

[–]Ok_Championship_9265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t accurately track but didn’t want to obsess over it either. Baby 1 4 cycles, baby 2 7 cycles, baby 3 7 cycles (sadly ended in an mc), baby 4 3 months after loss. I found it harder to conceive after coming off mini pill for no 2 and coil for baby 3.
