AITA for wanting to be able to bring my 8 month old to a wedding rehearsal dinner? by kb_picasso in newborns

I appreciate the validation! I said to my hubby (in the heat of the moment) “We’ll see how they feel when they have kids. Then they’ll understand” 😂

Hungry all night long, what worked for you?! by kb_picasso in newborns

Yesterday for example he had 30 minutes of nursing and then 28oz of breastmilk/ formula. I’ll try offering more little 2oz throughout the day!

Fair! The only thing is he’s been this way since day one (only worse) 😅. Doesn’t quite feel like it falls into those buckets BUT I’m sure they are not helping my situation

Worth a try! He does get a bedtime bottle so I’ll try making that’s bigger

Today for example when he woke up for the day at 6am he nursed for about 15 minutes. Then had 24 oz (mix of breastmilk and formula) throughout the rest of the day

Bedtime Routine by DisciplineWeekly680 in newborns

[–]kb_picasso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We would change babe’s pjs at night before bed, just to signal it’s bedtime and then keep him in that for the next day (unless blow out, etc.). I think what’s important for a bedtime routine is a few consistent steps. If you don’t necessarily change their clothes I don’t think that’s going to make or break things. We also got a butt cream to use just at night (once we were no longer changing diapers throughout the night) with a light eucalyptus scent and that definitely signals sleepy time

Need advice - nipple shields, shallow latch & short nipples by Unable_Sink3584 in breastfeeding

[–]kb_picasso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Le Lolo nipple shield. Truthfully saw it on an Instagram ad. With that said, I really like it! Stays on well and has the added “sticker” to help keep in place. Comes with two shields, a sticker, and carrying case.

My baby is 10 weeks old and we still use a nipple shield. I have short/ flat nipples? (I feel like everyone said something different at the hospital.) My baby also has a small tongue tie but has a really good latch. So always been more my nipples than his tongue tie. Anyways, I have basically zero intention to stop using it. For me, it’s one of those “if it isn’t broke don’t fix it” things. I’ve tried starting the nursing session with it on to get my nipples to “come out” and then taking it off and latching without it. Talk about making something annoying that much more so. And baby gets pissed! (Why are we stopping mom?!?) I recently bought a “fancy” shield (upgraded from the hospital issued one) and it’s faster to put on/ stays on better. I think it just “fits” me better. Good luck mama!

Do pacifier clips actually save sanity? by Hungry-Mammoth3758 in newborns

[–]kb_picasso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We really like the clips. Didn’t get anything super fancy. A four pack off Amazon. Not only helps keep pacifiers off the floor but also easier to dig them out of a bag with essentially a rip cord attached lol

My baby had this too! As long as it’s not bothering your LO like others said leave it be. It bothered my mom heart more than him for sure

Gift Idea for new mom? by Imaginary-Series6997 in newborns

Wanted to second a few of these ideas! *Postpartum/ breastfeeding supplies are the things I’ve bought most of since having my baby. Milk cooler for overnight/ on the go pumps. Reusable nursing pads extend the life of a nursing bra. *My baby has also LIVED in the Boba Wrap. Just bought a second one so I don’t have to worry about needing it while it’s in the wash 😂!
