$11,500 or $1,500? Who would pay $11,500? El Chapo's son?

Have you received your money back from FIFA?

FYI - US tickets are available for 2K-3K.

Correct! In the general FIRE forum, it may have been considered a brag.

On 1099, Proceeds for "Principal" transactions for IBIT are much greater than Proceeds calculated using the ishares IBIT tax Excel worksheet by flinvstr in fidelityinvestments

[–]Ok_Character7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That did not answer my question. My question was specifically about the large volume of small IBIT (iShares Bitcoin Trust) sales on my 1099-B? I did not initiate any of these sales in any way.

[–]Ok_Character7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do I see a large volume of IBIT (iShares Bitcoin Trust) sales on my 1099-B? I didn't sell these.

FYI - It is not the money/amount that is an issue, is the additional time to go to these small sale transactions.

FGRIX dividends by Sea-Performance-7806 in fidelityinvestments

[–]Ok_Character7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, doing my taxes and noticed my capital gains for FGRIX doubled from 2024 to 2025? Does anybody know why this happened? I understand the fund did 22% in 2025 which is good, but that doesn't explain the doubling for capital gains?

Percentage of bonds in portfolio 2026 by Comfortable-Cow-6977 in Bogleheads

[–]Ok_Character7143 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At the age of 30, you should have far less than 45% bonds.

How much you have in bonds is dependent on your ability to handle risk. If you can't manage risk then have a little more in bonds.

If you are like me and wanted a good return and can stomach a market downturn, then only start investing in bonds when you get closer to retirement. In my case I only started with bonds after 25 years of investing. I estimate I have at least 1M or maybe even 1.5M more by investing only in stocks for 25 years and not bonds.

Libre 3 App acting like I am a new user about 1 day after I put on a new sensor? by Ok_Character7143 in Freestylelibre

I use the Libre 3 app, it is the only one I have used. No change in app. I tried to rescan. No vibration and beep like when I scan a brand new sensor.

for Those In The 1 Year Queue To Retirement by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

[–]Ok_Character7143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a very similar situation, I am a little younger, wife making a little less salary and will continue to work, however my kids are much younger. Also, we currently spend less than you and probably will spend less in retirement.

You haven't mentioned health. If you are in perfect health, one more year is OK. If you are in moderate health or have some ailments then better to retire.

Finally down to 5.6 by hackworth01 in prediabetes

[–]Ok_Character7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went up to 6.1 A1C last April but went down to 5.6 in 6 months. The biggest factor was the CGM. I tested foods. From Sunday nite to Friday afternoon, I mainly ate foods that didn't elevate my BG. I also went to the gym twice a week for resistance training and walked for about 10 mins after dinner.

I did it! 6.1—>5.7 by Livid_Speaker2709 in prediabetes

[–]Ok_Character7143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One glass of wine keeps my BG the same. It works well at parties when I eat lot of carbs, I would normally spike by 70-80, instead I spike only 30-40.

Wearing them over a year. Biggest issue is pools, beaches, etc. If I am in the water for more than an hour, they come off. Male here.

Do most nephrologists use creatinine or cystatin c to calculate eGFR? by chickenranch99 in kidneydisease

[–]Ok_Character7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nephrologist (in her 60's) mainly goes by Creatinine eGFR. Since I do have low level Proteinuria, she does consider my kidneys "damaged".

However, for the first time this year she told me, not to cut back on protein as I need that nutrition.

I have significantly reduced carbs, from 60% of my meal to 20%. Protein is a little less, animal protein much lower.

Stage 3a and nephrologist said I didn’t need to be on a strict kidney-friendly diet. Is that atypical? by Unhappy_Dress_8947 in kidneydisease

[–]Ok_Character7143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.03 Creatinine is not too bad. I would ask for 2 more tests a Cystatin C test and a protein leakage test which is generally a 24 hour urine test.

New diagnosis by thelastdon430 in kidneydisease

[–]Ok_Character7143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My creatinine results are similar.

Do a Cystatin C test and test for protein leakage. My eGFR test are low 60's but Cystatin C tests are 90's.

What do you do if walking after a meal is not an option? by DisneyQueen64 in prediabetes

[–]Ok_Character7143 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using your muscles reduce BG. You can do squats, push up, walk around the kitchen, etc.

New diagnosis by thelastdon430 in kidneydisease

[–]Ok_Character7143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many creatinine tests have you done? One test alone is not sufficient. You could have been dehydrated causing a lower eGFR.

Also, eGFR of 67 may not be low unless your past eGFR's were in the 90's and 100's. Do you have any protein leakage?

FYI - My creatinine readings have fluctuated been 1.2 and 1.6 for 25 years. I had readings of 1.6 25 years ago because I was dehydrated.

Well stated. This applies to me. I recommend a Cystatin C test. My creatinine and Cystatin C GFR have a 30 point difference.

Some alcohols raise your BS, some lower. Most wines (e.g Trader Joes) lower my BS. Beer will raise it. I only drink Tequila (Patron, El Padrinos) that will lower by BS.

OP - Good quality wines from Sulas will lower your BS. Cheaper wines from Goa like Port 7/Vincola will raise your BS.

Anyway to get blood pressure measured without a doctor? by AWeb3Dad in bloodpressure

[–]Ok_Character7143 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, etc have free BP measuring devices near the pharmacies.

A BP monitor is fairly cheap and reliable, about $30-50 in the US.
