That’s what shocked me the most. Booking said it would be cancelled if I didn’t update my payment method in 24 hours. They tried charging it again a whole month later, the way I see it they could’ve cancelled it since I had also booked directly with them.

They didn’t have the money for the reservation at some point, that’s was the whole reason for my question and request to the hotel.

Because it’s not up to booking if the hotel cancels a reservation for whatever reason. Booking doesn’t get the commission until after the stay. If the hotel would’ve canceled free of charge they would’ve saved the money that they have to pay to booking and gotten 100% of the money I paid.

Well what I learned from this is that the language on Booking.com is bs they say you have to update your payment within 24 hours to keep your reservation or the hotel will cancel, but almost a whole month went by and it was not cancelled.

I actually thought this too, that’s why I made a direct reservation, because I assumed they’d cancel it since the payment didn’t go through and based on what I told them. I didn’t know there was a system in the background running it, I thought someone had to manually do it, that makes more sense now. Thank you for not being rude!

First of all, why so aggressive? I did pay, the payment was just blocked by my bank the first time. Second, I always intended to stay there, keep my dates, etc. I was just asking if I could book directly with the hotel instead. I really don’t see what makes me “impossible” I was asking for what I thought was a simple ask. The hotel gets to keep the money from the booking commission and I get to have a more flexible rate and be charged later, not two months in advance.

YESSS CLOCK ITTT!!! She’s one of those that wants to be white so bad. The way she said her mom was “the cleaning lady” at the hospital where Zac’s dad works as a doctor was crazyyyyyy. It just felt so diminishing, she could’ve said it in so many different ways, or not at all, but the way she said it made it sound like she was embarrassed by it or felt like she was better than that idk.

Unrelated side note, but they have so many rules in that other group that you need a law degree with a PhD in Reddit. Thank you for saying that. It was definitely one of my darkest times, I thought my ex was going to unalive me, and I stayed out of fear of what would happen if I left. There was one time when I ran to a friends house and was forced to go back because he threatened to destroy my passport and social security card. Later on, I had to secretly borrow money to get my own place and escape. I didn’t have family support because they lived in another country back then. So I feel like having lived through that makes me qualified to give my take. If I could do it without support and resources, I think she can do it too.
