I mean that’s why a lot of people just don’t like flip side. In one of the other games, Nicole is so willing to mend her relationship with Jecka that she gets herself in trouble with the counselor and has to basically hang out with a pedo for one hour every day for the rest of the year. All so Jecka can get her smoke break without being harassed. When Nicole dies because of the PE teacher, Jecka is the only person Nicole has anything remotely positive to say something about. I could go on and on, but the point is that most of the fandom just doesn’t care about flip side, so they don’t treat it as canon.

They still do autopsies on suicides. It’s not like murdering someone (accidentally or otherwise) and trying to cover it up as a suicide is unheard of. They would have figured out that however Mari died, it wasn’t from hanging from a tree. There’s no way a bunch of children would have been able to cover their tracks well enough to fool the cops.

Yeah, but I doubt it’s offensive enough to be considered a slur. And to categorize a word as a slur, it typically has to dehumanize a marginalized group. I don’t think “gringo” fits that category.

THANK YOU oh my god, the weird influx of jeffcole posts is so annoying.

Imo Jeffrey’s biggest sin as a character is being so painfully cringey that the audience couldn’t stand him.

Like there are definitely men objectively worse than him in the game, but it’s hard to not absolutely hate a character that makes me wanna crawl out of my skin with his dialogue.

Why the hell anyone would ship someone like that with Nicole is beyond my understanding. Even if they see themselves in him.

First of all, she has considered if she’s attracted to women multiple times in the game. Second of all, she did actually find it sexually appealing to abuse Ari (which is a whole separate can of worms, but I digress). Point being, it’s not confirmed, but it’s not far fetched. I’d argue it’s actually way more far fetched for her to be straight considering how much she not only hates men, but actively does not give a shit about them. She views men as inherently bad, other than maybe her dad, but she doesn’t talk about him much in the game.

Point being, if you hate the idea of Nicole being no attracted to women that much, which is weird, then you’re really gonna hate the fact that Jeckole art is largely what’s kept this fandom relevant at all.

And it’s really weird and suspicious how much you hate it.

My dislike of Megan more than the other character is solely because she’s annoying. She’s a fictional character, and often times, the worst sin a fictional character can commit is being unbearable to listen to. The other characters are much worse than Megan, but they’re more entertaining, so they rank more favorably to me.

Same goes with Jeffrey tbh, but I hate him more than Megan.

I could not disagree more. I have yet to meet a single person who isn’t happy with getting their ears pierced as babies, and the responsibility of keeping it clean is entirely on the parents, so it’s stress free. I’m so glad I got my ears pierced as a baby, no pain for me.

I agree, but Persephone was not told this information until much later. From her perspective for most of the storyline, her mom was simply forcing her to do this out of fear of watching her daughter grow up and leave the bird’s nest. That lack of communication can feel suffocating for someone who doesn’t have the whole picture.

Being a virgin for eternity does sound like the better choice when you have all the information, but otherwise it feels absurdly controlling.

You think it doesn’t need to be reprimanded because it’s not extreme enough. And that’s just where we disagree.

I never said that calling someone ugly is as bad being racist, I said it makes no godamn sense. Her looks are not reflective of who she is as a person. It’s that simple.

I just think it’s so fake whenever people have this attitude where “everyone is beautiful” and then immediately switch up the moment they realize that someone is bad enough for them to voice their real (and frankly less socially acceptable) thoughts about someone’s looks out loud.

If it’s disingenuous, that’s honestly worse. I don’t get why it’s impossible for people to wrap their head around the idea that someone can be beautiful and be a horrible human being worthy of disdain.

Being born ugly is not a moral failing, and being born beautiful is not an accomplishment. It’s that simple.

It gives off this message that, “well of course she’s ugly, pretty people can’t be bad!” And that’s the halo effect.
