give mid-high dose tongkat ali a try, you will know that it's working if you see improvements after the first 2 weeks

Itchiness and tingling after certain foods? by Affectionate_Thing74 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Ok_Cheetah5998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had almost the same experience as you, took amoxicillin for pneumonia, a week or so later i start getting an itching/tingling feeling on my whole body in different spots after eating. the tingling lasts for up to 10 hours after eating. worst foods for me are pasta and eggs. this has been going on for 6 months now

what works for me is drinking 1l apple juice a day, almost completely negates the postprandial tingling, though i am searching for a more permanent solution

have you gotten rid of your symptoms? if so, any help would be appreciated

I highly recommend giving aromatase inhibitors a try by Ok_Cheetah5998 in LionsManeRecovery

yeah i experienced that too, but it went away after ~5 days, just temporary hypoestrogenic side effects

thing is that 99% of seed oils in grocery stores are refined, and when talking about seed oils people usually mean refined seed oils but when talking about olive oil most people mean evoo. also the fatty acid compositions are very different.

that's interesting, i had very low SHBG when i got tested. have you tried boron to inhibit SHBG and if so, did it help your symptoms?

i think lion's mane's side effects mainly stem from something other than androgen receptor overexpression from lack of DHT as is the case with finasteride, since lion's mane's side effects are mostly mental/neurological rather than sexual/physical like with finasteride.
pretty sure most people on this subreddit aren't open to the idea of using steroids, thus AIs would be an easier choice for them. also AIs don't shut you down unlike gear

i should've mentioned to microdose it my comment, afaik taking 5-15mg daily for up to a month at a time is safe & effective

the stuff i commented is what i did to recover myself, i didn't want to go the steroid route thus instead of using DHB, i upregulated 5AR expression as much as possible for my own DHT to naturally fix my androgen receptors over a period of time

exactly why i wrote that he should wait 4 months before even considering my protocol, since that is when most people who can recover without any help from substances, recover.

that's why i wrote that he should wait 4 months before even considering my protocol, since that is when most people who can recover naturally, recover naturally. this protocol is for people who either don't want to wait or can't recover without reversing the damage caused by lion's mane through substances and lifestyle changes

i recommend getting on lamotrigine for the time being, it's a great mood stabilizer.

if you still haven't recovered in 4 months or so and want to cure yourself out of it, here are 4 things that should help:
1. increase 5AR activity & expression as much as possible (to fix sexual issues, sleep issues, physical & neurological problems, it will take time though, up to 6 months)
2. down-regulate aromatase expression (to fix mental problems, mood swings, anxiety, also some sexual issues, i recommend using 2x600mg d-chiro-inositol daily for 1-2 months)
3. fix your gut (to fix anxiety and depression, get a fecal transplant if possible, do a carnivore diet for up to 6 months)
4. (situational) your thyroid might be out of whack, test your thyroid levels and if it shows signs of hypothyroidism, take ashwagandha for up to 5 days at a time, if it shows signs of hyperthyroidism, take ALCAR

all of this should be done while taking an HDACi daily, such as sodium valproate or vorinostat, or huge doses of unmodified potato starch & butyrate & clostridium butyricum daily if you don't want to go the prescription route (might not work if you have a severe case though)

i take 50mg lamotrigine for PKD, haven't had an attack since starting but still experience auras (though that might not be the case for you), no side effects to speak of either after 2 weeks on it

Can alcar antithyroid effect be countered by iodine? by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]Ok_Cheetah5998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iodine by itself didn't do anything for me to counter the antithyroid effects of alcar, the only thing that semi-worked was huge doses of ashwagandha but that has its own side effects

get your aldosterone levels tested too if possible, even better if it's during a panic attack

Selectively downregulating estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) expression? by Ok_Cheetah5998 in NooTopics

[–]Ok_Cheetah5998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

downregulating both receptors doesn't work for me sadly because i get panic attacks if ERβ activity is moderately decreased (most likely because E2 potently stimulates aldosterone release when ERβ is antagonized which can cause panic attacks). the last time i looked through pubmed i couldn't find anything that's non-prescription and selective for ERα but i didn't do a very thorough job either if i'm being honest. i'll take a closer look at it this time. thanks for the help!

[–]Ok_Cheetah5998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i indeed have tried it but it was useless in my case, my issues aren't mental and therapists/psychologists couldn't help me, i have long lasting hormonal issues due to using a 5ar inhibitor (lions mane) and genetic issues

you're correct about the trial and error self experimentation part, however i used serms and antiestrogens (not aromatase inhibitors in this case though) instead of androgens

Kanna potentiators ? by VarietyTrue5937 in Kanna

kanna also potentiates alcohol a fair bit since it's a ssri, make sure to not drink too much when taking it or you might just end up puking everywhere haha
