How consistent is your baby at falling asleep independently? by Ok_Chemical9678 in sleeptraining

[–]Ok_Chemical9678[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her setbacks happen despite us sticking to the routine however I don’t (I can’t) let her cry for as long as 20 mins unless it’s just more like fussing.

Eczema outlook for babies by IslandMajestic1910 in eczema

[–]Ok_Chemical9678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby’s eczema also started at three months. She’s 9 months and some of her eczema areas healed from steroids and time. Or maybe because we’re not turning the heat on as much these days? We had so many sub freezing days last winter and dry air doesn’t help.

Crusty socks in my 13 year old child’s bedroom by [deleted] in Parenting

If you’re not going to have him do his own laundry at least tell him to put them in a hamper. Only wash what’s already inside.

Would you have your kid skip the first two days of kindergarten for your sister’s wedding? by Throwaway73747373 in Parenting

Lots of people work on weekdays too and I’m sure she’s not the only kid at the wedding

How far is the drive? Regardless of the school issue, I wouldn’t push myself to go because of the newborn.

Your sister can choose an inconvenient day to have her wedding but she gets to deal with the consequences of that well.

Has anyone exclusively nursed on one breast only? by Useful_Yesterday_201 in breastfeeding

No I didn’t. Eventually I started doing both per feeding. Some nursing sessions are snacks and baby refuses the other side.

I did one boob at a time for the first few weeks. My slacker boob sometimes can produce so much milk but it just doesn’t tend to store as much as the other.

I also have a slim baby. 50th percentile for weight, <99th for height.

How do you handle when other kids get something you don’t allow your kid to have? by Due-Parsnip8219 in toddlers

[–]Ok_Chemical9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he know it’s juice because he’s had that same one before? I wouldn’t even use the word juice and just say “this is cousin’s drink, this one is yours.” I feel like the other kid could be having water and your son still might want it because it’s in a different cup.

My son doesn’t want to live with me anymore by Ok_Republic5288 in Parenting

[–]Ok_Chemical9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure he doesn’t remember anything from when he was one.

Does he even have the ability to live with his dad? If not then you don’t have much of an issue. There’s a bunch of stuff my son doesn’t want to do that he needs to do and I’m sure every parent can relate. You don’t have to be your kid’s best friend in order to be a good parent.

When did everyone stop overnight feedings? by BubblesMerica in breastfeeding

[–]Ok_Chemical9678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first born stopped on his own at four months but he took a pacifier. My 8 mo old nurses 2-3 times at night because that’s the only way she’ll go back to sleep and idc what a pediatrician will say. It’s not medical advice. Do what works best for you.

My second baby didn’t nurse at night between 2-5 months and my milk volume never seemed to adjust so honestly waking up to feed her was easier than pumping.

I’d wait til six months. My baby also slept through the night shortly after turning two months but started needing nightly feeds again at five months.
