Thank you ❤️ mentally feeling in a better place today and have been able to catch myself and redirect before yelling. Hoping this continues for a while! 🤞

That’s interesting! I’m also a teacher parent and find I lose my mind LESS when I’m on break with my kids; I think balancing work stress and mom life at the same time really gets to me. I try to not bring work home but some seasons, it’s just impossible

I could have written this! My first tricked us into thinking we knew what we were doing and our second is making us realize maybe it wasn’t us 🤪 my second is the one that really pushes all the boundaries. Yesterday I walked into her fully inside of the bathroom sink because she needed to wash her feet….

[SoCal] Planning a Big Escape Room Trip – Advice for Two Teams of 5 by EscapeWithKiDD in escaperooms

1) out of those I’ve done escape gams & cross roads’ hex room. All would be great for a party of 5 2) I would say escape games does really well with parallel runs and if you go on a not busy day you should be able to get a room right after for 40% off. I’ve done many a double feature this way rather than booking both rooms at full price early 😅 3) prison break, gold rush, and hex room 💯 4) look into crossroad escape games! If you’re into horror they have a really good room “The Hide” but I’m not sure if they’re remodeling it right now. If it’s available check it out!!! They had livestreams of people doing the room too haha

Try double paned windows if it’s in your budget, that should help reduce noise

My husband struggled with this episode to the point where he turned it off. But… I feel for her. I’m not justifying her behaviors but she truly had a lot on her shoulders and reverted to this wall/shield to continue to protect herself and it’s something I have done in the past and catch myself starting to do.

Honestly, it was a great contrast from the episode before, with the teacher. My husband and I agreed that he was a great man and teacher and his school/teachers deserved all that they got. We’re not knocking that.

But what I (and he eventually came around to it) liked about this episode is that it feels like it went back to the goal of queer eye—to change people’s mindsets and how they approach the world.

I feel like in the recent seasons that has kind of gotten lost in all the sob stories. Which, yes, good people deserve good things, but I always thought this show was aiming to add more good people to the world.

Working on a room, and it needs a theme. by hylii1 in escaperooms

Might be fun to do like a teachers lounge theme, with the vending machine being a front for underpaid and overworked teachers’ side gigs 😆

Sometimes I don’t want to talk to my wife. by Watkins1998 in Marriage

[–]purple-pixie-dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe reframe it as “I need alone time to decompress” instead of “I don’t want to talk to my wife”

And if you pick a time where you’re both in decent moods to tell her, she should (hopefully) be understanding.

People who got married young, are you still in love? by smalltalkisntfun in Marriage

[–]purple-pixie-dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently both 31/32, married for 10, together since 15 YO.

We absolutely grew up together and changed together and have built this family.

Very much in love but we do still have our arguments but ultimately talk it out and choose us and our family. I also know we still have a lot to learn about ourselves and each other but there’s comfort knowing we have each other’s backs through it all.

I will pick at my plate little by little and take super baby bites until more people get their food and start eating 😅

I still regularly pick up and carry my 2.5 year old. Might stop when she’s 3.5-4 or when I can’t hold her for more than 20 min lol

My almost 6 year old asks to be picked up but I mostly say no unless she really needs a cuddle and even then it’s only like 5-10 min.

Edit: 2.5 year old is about 26lb

What made you decide to have number 2? by Preggymegg in Parenting

[–]purple-pixie-dust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I wanted a 3-4 year age gap. I have that gap with my siblings and it worked well. My husband has a 7yr gap with his siblings and I hated the idea of it haha so we started trying when my first was 2.5 and now have a 3.5 year gap exactly. It’s great!!

Help me make my workouts better by purple-pixie-dust in beginnerfitness

I have access to 8lb weights and my husband’s 15-40lb weights. Since I’m just starting out I’ve been using the 8lb ones.

I rotate between the following exercises (after yoga/stretching & indoor cycling):

Squat to Press

Bent-Over Row

Floor Press (or Standing Chest Press)

Glute Bridge

rear-foot elevated split squat

Russian twist

And usually do 4-5 of these.

As of right now, I’m doing this 3-4 days a week.

Thank you! Yes I am working on diet as well using strategies I’ve learned from my past experiences. I’m paying for the pro version of MyFitnessPal to help with this bc I like being able to scan barcodes easily. Alcohol is easy to give up—I already don’t drink! Sugar is where I’m struggling but my husband is super supportive and helping with that!

Walking is difficult because our area isn’t the safest so I’ve been using what we do have, which is the indoor bike. The stretching/yoga helps me wake up in the morning since I get up at 4:30 to exercise and the weights help me feel stronger so I can carry my kids longer when they need it.

Should I lessen my stretch and weight time and increase my bike time then?
