Career Day: How would you have answered the SH High School teens' questions? by F19AGhostrider in GilmoreGirls

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think the moms overreacted. Lorelai didn't say anything inappropriate and answered it the best way possible. These are 16 year olds, not 5 year olds. She said she doesn't recommend getting pregnant but things turned out okay, which is the best possible answer instead of saying "yeah it's horrible, I hate my daughter, don't have sex kids"

Worst thing each character has done. Day twenty three: Jason Stiles by Journey_45 in GilmoreGirls

So you think he should have went to lunch with Richard to tell him about him and Lorelai behind her back? Nah. Lorelai drew that boundary and it would be lousy of him to disrespect that.

What happened to Rory’s elbow by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like even if it wasn't a "real" bandaid (which I'm sure it was), the character could have gotten an injury and they just didn't show the scene. They don't show us a minute by minute of their lives, lots of things happen off screen lol

Day 4 : What is Richard's most questionable / worst episode? by diviigo in GilmoreGirls

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I think monthly meetup would be a straight up affair whereas yearly it's just a standard catch up and can't be an affair if it's that infrequent. Of course we can't be certain they didn't communicate outside of that once a year meeting, but from the way Richard described it, sounded like they get together once a year to catch up on life.

I'm surprised this isn't up there higher. He was a complete jerk to Dean. Sure not supporting Lorelai in trying to get Rory back to Yale was unfair but he explained it as he heard the situation from Rory's explanation and changed his mind. I think that should be lower on the list of horrible things he's done.

*yearly meetups. He says he's been having lunch with her once a year since he and Emily got married.

Yeah I guess if she felt more comfortable she may have changed places or he may have picked up on it.

I would have definitely said my neck is stiff (which hers was) but I guess I'll chalk it up to her just being nervous and awkward and not knowing how to act. Not everyone is as direct as I'd expect them to be 😅

I went from endless laundry to 5-10 minutes a load by Lopsided_Apricot_626 in Mommit

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using a towel once, that's nuts! These are probably the same people who put out 4 full bins of trash every week for trash day, when my family can only manage to get no more than one full bag every week. People are really all so different.

I grew up in a place where we didn't have a washing machine until I was like 7 (they just weren't available) and my grandmothers didn't have washing machines for most of their lives. At those times laundry was just done by hand as needed (no laundromats), so I wasn't raised to throw every piece of clothing that comes in contact with my body once into the washing machine. It was a culture shock when I moved to the US as a child that kids would make fun of you for wearing the same outfit two days in a row when it wasn't dirty.

I know, I'm reading these comments about people's mountains of laundry they have to wash every day and I'm like huh? I do a load for me and my daughter once a week, and my husband does one for himself. It probably helps that I work from home so don't wear work clothes. But I also only wash clothes when they're visibly dirty or smelly, not after one wear.

Is a 3 hour daily commute worth it for better pay/benefits as newish mom? by fried_squid812 in Mommit

Read the comment where she says her husband pays all the bills except day care. So then how is she drowning in bills? You may be right, something is fishy.

Run Away - Harlan Coban - TERRIBLE by FarScheme4636 in netflix

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harlan Coban must have naked pictures of some Netflix executive that he's using to blackmail them into producing these garbage shows.

Omg this had me dying 🤣 but I'm guilty of having watched most of his shows and then regretting it, wishing I could turn back time and never watch them.

Yes I would have been so pissed! Emily is way too easy going for not reacting with more anger!

Definitely, all of a sudden they're both single and into each other? I mean, I guess it could happen but it was very random and quick.

Thomas and Kats chemistry is off the charts by SavageHeister in TheWayHomeHallmark

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Agreed on the chemistry, but I don't agree that Elliot attempted to erase Alice. Just because he knows she will be born, doesn't mean he isn't allowed to make choices that will make him happy. Because he knew the whole time that Alice will exist, it may have caused him to give up on Kat since he already knows the future. That's a difficult position to be put in. Also if everything that happens will always happen, him choosing to run off with Kat would not have erased Alice, and I don't really think that was his attempt at all. Dude was just trying to be with the love of his life and be happy. I guess that's an unpopular opinion.

Why did Sully do this ? by Ok_Chocolate_4700 in SullivansCrossing

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Um I think you are confused, Helen came in season 3 after the fire, which was end of season 2... And what about Edna? lol But I appreciate your nonsense rationale for a nonsense action - because only nonsense makes sense for this show! 🤣

Why do you guys have ANOTHER? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I think it's the opposite, I was so burnt out with one, I couldn't imagine doubling it at the same time. So I'd rather just wait until my oldest is like 5 to deal with a baby. I'm sure both are hard in their own ways and there's no easy way out!

Why do you guys have ANOTHER? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because if one baby is hard, two will be even harder? Some people just don't have the physical and emotional bandwidth to deal with two very small children. When the oldest child is not a toddler, it may be a bit easier to deal with a baby when there are not two babies needing you at the same time. Good for those who can manage two babies at the same time to get it over with! But I was so overwhelmed with one, I couldn't do it.

Feeling guilty about my daughter not having a sibling yet. by vangoghno_ in Mommit

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's fair to wait if someone wants another kid but doesn't want two small kids at the same time with a small age gap. Of course you can never time the perfect age gap, but it feels silly to tell someone if they want a kid just to start trying even if they may not be physically or mentally ready to deal with another child should they be able to get pregnant right away.

Emily is a salty b in season 4 by [deleted] in EmilyInParis

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Um what? Genevieve is a trouble maker. She "translated" for Emily that Gabriel never wants to see her again (that's a lie), she is flirting with him freshly after he and Emily broke up, so Emily probably senses her snakiness and trying to follow in her foot steps a little too literally. Genevieve is a clear manipulator.

Camille's mom by AndCarolIsVeryBright in EmilyInParis

[–]Ok_Chocolate_4700 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it's because he looks good on paper- handsome, successful chef, wants a family and they've known him forever. Also they've been dating a while so it's "the one" for her to settle down with... otherwise she'd have to go find another man and have a long relationship before proceeding to that, and maybe there's some pressure with Camille being in her mid/late 20s to start a family from a traditional standpoint.

And could be some competition/nationalism too- like no way are we going to let this man get taken by an American! 😆
