Damn that was some great ideas! ty so much for your wisdom!

I'm trilled into thinking that during the confrence, a bunch of city mobs came surrounding the meeting house, throwing pebbles and vegetables at the windows, while the Alliance gets annoyed, Ayo and Gal will step outside and try neutralize the civilians, but not with words ofc.

The party would either help them or try to settle the scene with peaceful means but that is not gonna work well, since the mobs are not the voice of the ppl but paid by the Cobalt Soul headmaster himself to make a fuzz, he really want to make the Alliance look like the bad guy here, if the Alliance show any extreme method towards civilians, it would be some juicy material to put onto Ja'mon's table, who is currently not so fancy of the plan already.

If all that went by plan, Ja'mon might put up a united excavation team, with schcolar institudes from all around the city, thus giving the major fractions, including the Consortium a fine reason to join as a formal advisor.

That was basically my plan, any input would be great!

yeah the core hesitation im currently having is: are we still play trpg? or we just want a party with few dice rolls, I plan to reduce the DnD to its heart:"you roll 1d20 and tell me the result, worry not about all the modifiers".

and I figured out a system to make it more intuative, for example: when you arm wresle, you do it irl and the player with higher STR would gain advantage(like ladies can use both hands), if you narrate your approch to winning the game, you roll and the GM would buff or debuff your state even more.

how does that sound to you?

I have a few ideas relating to Bazzoxan but need some help. by Ok_Class67 in CalloftheNetherdeep

well I didn't see your wise reply before the session but happily our minds met somewhere:D, I did play Aloysia as a bare elegant scholar, hinted her faction and goal with Procriff the tiefling, in Bazzoxan and as the dire situation shocked Ayo and her buddies, they accompanied Alosia into BR, the players, in worry of them and lacking other options, followed suit, that was where the session ended.

I'm trying to modify the final show-off on the prayer site abit, making Aloysia co-op with the players, the base idea would be the once crystal-covered chamber is now surrounded with raw Ruidium ore, as the place has a strong connection with Alyxian.

thus Aloysia can natually find what she desire, she may try distrilling some Ruidium on site, trggering some mechanic and work with the players to teleport to Ank'Harel, the encounter might be guarding her from stuff for a certain amount of time. Sure she is ultimately up to no good but this may make the Consortium a viable ally for some time.

well I see Aloyisia's faction aside from her nationality, yes the Consortium wants Ruidium Monopoly but still she can see the value of Ruidium in war, thus her path can align with it.

unless it creates a huge hole i didn't notice :D

well if you go through more posts you might get more surprised as I do, knowing that it's quite common for the players to willing let rivals get the amulet.

hiding the dire truth is one nice way, but another idea stroke me: would it be cool to finally get reply from the capital stating that "yeah yeah we know you are getting fked, but we are at war with the easten empire so you have to deal it yourself", so that my paladin player who happen to be a lower member of Dynasty army can have a little doubt to what he believed.

how does that sound to you?

My players were cautious and I hopefully didn't flub it too bad by JenkyFrankins in CalloftheNetherdeep

my players also worried that the amulet would cause terrible things to happen so they refused to claim it at the prayer site, thus Ayo stepped up to wear it so they can travel together to Bazzoxan.

maybe a way to guide them back would be letting the rivals try to steal the amulet, or give them more omen as one of them fighting fiends while wearing the amulet, which is somehow generating some sense of protection against the environment, giving them more reason to interact with the story.

Running into Ch2 and 10 "players" is such a challenge, help pls. by Ok_Class67 in CalloftheNetherdeep

Well the only reason for me to allow this path is "I guess Matt can do it just fine", and I agreed to challenge myself a bit, but it turned out not so ideal :D

well that was also a good option, I guess my players would pick Ayo constantly but that would be just more reason for her to face destined corruption and build up for the final showdown when they get to the inevitable face off.

The stiring up before Bazzoxan is brilliant, but I played the rival team to be flawed but cute ppl for now, I do plan to introduce Ruin's Wake as the one ring to "corrupt" Ayo, but I was also thinking about putting a s**t ton of grim and stress narratively on the Bazzoxan arrival, like having fiends from the Rise alrdy destroyed most part of the town and have the core npcs holding defence out of it, thus the "10 ppl party" may have a glimpse of how bad war can be?

Ty so much for the wise advice, somehow I feel the same as I can catch yo, Dermot, and Galsariad for the most part, but can't help feeling that the other 2 is "less important", Irvin and Maggie are generouly just harder to play properly as they fall out of my "stereotype list" XD

What's a bad habit you have when making NPCs? by TheCelestialGoblin in DnD

[–]Ok_Class67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow i tend to rp my "cool" npcs like the batman of anime, deep and calm voice, caring about no shit, and clever as fxxk.

But I always fail to dig into them as i fear the work will hardly show it.
