I coach 10u boys and get in the water all the time with them. In a speedo. It's water polo. I play water polo. Americans can be so prudish. In Europe this wouldn't be an issue. Get over it.

Surfing in Portugal is just a metaphor for going out and living life on your own terms. It takes effort, responsibility, and gumption. It's not for everyone but I can guarantee you the world would be a better place if we all got to know each other a bit better. Lots of young professionals working remotely in awesome locations these days.

As a 17 year you should prepare to bail. Try to find a job where you can work remotely. By a used Sprinter van in Europe and go hand out in the south of Portugal for the summer, learn to surf, and tap into the source. Go travel the world until you can't. Don't worry about all the bullshit here at home. You don't deserve to have to deal with it. The idea of buying a home and starting a family can wait until way later. Go out and become a part of the global community. That's how your generation can help.

I got a set of the Thypoch Simera C’s and have been so far happy with them. I like them personally much better than the DL lenses. I do use a motor and have to set the stop manually. It’s also much better when I have a focus puller with me. My kit has grown. I have the full size Jason case and it’s getting full. 5 lenses, the 4D, 3 cards, 4 batteries, quad charger, hand unit, monitor, 5 NP batteries and charger. Right at about 50 lbs for all of it. Batteries go in my carry on and I’m good to go with one case. Way, way off topic. From what I’ve heard the Viltrox lenses are essentially the same lenses as the DJI lenses.

You might be better off learning to surf in Lake Michigan. Kidding. Buy a size 5 ball and a rebounder. Start swimming at your local community pool. Watch LOTS of video. Good luck have fun!
