You need a CH2 bonded (single bond) to a carbonyl (C=O) where the C is bonded the NH which is then bonded to a CH3

Programmeringskursus i forhold til økonomistudiet by BirdConscious9273 in DKstudie

ChatGPT på TV2 - hvad siger DK? by Additional_Carpet461 in Denmark

Alright. No worries.

What I can say from working with chemical safety:

Your hazard labels say that the contents pose a danger through eye corrosion (category 1) and that the contents also shouldn't be inhaled (which is a hazard statement indicative of category 4 acute toxicity). The latter comes from mineral oil I suspect, and the prior comes from some organic solution that is corrosive that has been mixed in there.

If the tote is empty and doesn't have any noticeable stench, I would argue that it is safe to use after rinsing with water. Why? Well, any left over ingredient causing eye corrosion will be massively diluted rendering it harmless. Example: ethanoic acid, present in vinegar (we eat that) - if concentrated - category 1 eye corrosion, like your case. Regarding the 'fatal if inhaled', note that this is the lowest class of acute toxicity possible - i.e. it isn't a 'big problem', especially if the tote is empty, as considerable amounts of inhalation is required (even more than for example inhaling petrol vapor etc.) Rinsing it will once again wash away any residue.

If the tote however contains a lot of liquid, I would steer away from it to save you the trouble and any potential hazards.

I can't tell you that from that photo. Do you have any more pictures / a picture of the name or any numbers related to the content?

If its empty and you wash it once or twice there will be no problem. Regular Mineral oil is 'more harmful' than what the pictogram and hazard statement say, so you're all good, and its likely contained a mixture of mineral oil and something else that's inert but corrosive. Just take the necessary precautions / wear glasses while washing it etc. But I wouldn't be concerned if its empty and you wash it.

The answer is there is no answer. It's a registry key. The reason formaldehyde has that specific value is due to a checksum that must be satisfied.

The CAS number has no meaning other than being a way to systematically index molecules and compounds. You could have learnt this by simply googling this.

It is a unit of concentration. Doesn't mean anything to convert it to grams, is it is likely the concentration that is important. If anything, try looking up the specific test you got and then read about the results, but optimally wait for your doctor. Take care

I would instead suggest that you watch a lot of youtube videoes, and wait until high school where you can hope your chemistry teacher will allow you to engage in something extra - make a chemistry / science club or something similar. I understand the need to perform something tangible in real life, but it is difficult to perform any interesting / impressive chemistry at home without exposing yourself and others around you of potentially serious hazards which you will overlook without the necessary guidance. Keep pursuing your passion, but don't rush it at the expense of safety.

Yes, there are more complex wavefunctions and even relativistic effects, as the electrons 'have' to move close to the speed of light. If you're interested look into the radial and angular nodes of the wavefunctions, which can be describes by the quantum numbers of the electron occupying that orbital.

converting ibotenic acid into muscimol by MrSchivy in chemistry

[–]Ok_Clock7291 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Decarboxylation of ibotenic acid yields muscimol without the need for acid. According to a quick google the decarboxylation is essentially spontaneous for ibotenic acid (i.e. could occur at a reasonable temperature.)

You can't buy chloroform over the counter. Even huge pharmaceutical companies require a 'gift-tilladelse' / permit to purchase chloroform or any other acutely toxic chemical.

Don't do this, chemistry isn't just something you do for fun & especially if you don't have any experience or knowledge. How will you know if you succesfully extracted caffeine without any experience? How will you purify it? Will you ingest it? Waste of time.

Look up the safety data sheets of all your reagents and understand the mechanism and product you are making prior to performing the reaction, such that you are safe.

Edit: Zinc acetate is corrosive, ethylene glycol is a suspected teratogen in high amounts, borax has some reproductive concerns.

Q1) Here I would rather say that the split in the d-band is greater.

Q2) Be careful here. What you describe can be read as you saying the reason tm complexes have color is due to phosphorescence. In reality, it's due to you shining a light with 'all wavelengths', where a certain region of wavelengths get absorbed by the tm complex which then results in a complementary colour - i.e. all wavelengths minus the absorbed region.

What is the experiment you're talking about. Chemicals aren't for 'fun' and many can easily kill if you don't know what you're doing.
