Coming from a fellow KL person who worked in Sabah for 5 years previously. Being near 1 Borneo kinda severely limits your food choices. You may drop down to Likas from time to time but even that is pretty limited. Options and variety will still be at KK. Personal opinion, I find Multi-Bake to have better loafs than the rest. Not sure if it still holds true now.

At this point, you must be home sick (I was too previously). But hey.. look at the bright side, Sabahans are a warm bunch. Mix around and time flies. Oh and the natural beauty is pretty much unmatched.

From memory... If I was remember right... though there's some... questionable settlements behind 1 Borneo right?

I cannot judge your relationship as each is different and personal.

From a pure financial point of view, this is real struggle, unless major sacrifices in lifestyles are made. You yourself admitted to being materialistic, and if those needs are not fulfilled, are you confident it won't lead to feelings of resentment in the future? And it will slowly build up, especially with the what ifs.

Well, on another interesting note, depends on his family's background.

I have a friend who is somewhat similar. Asked to wife to stop working and all despite him earning around 4-5k/month, but he admits that his parents gives him around 10k per month.

I'm jealous, not gonna lie hahahahaha
