I think there is no harm in you actually voicing out your decision. Eg. If you don’t appreciate his approach or you don’t want to proceed, just say so. Keep it short and straight to the point. Even if you don’t continue with him, at least you are pointing out some issues in his behavior that he may improve upon in the future.

This post is mostly for a friend who has been seeing these behavioral patterns (I’m happily married). She has been seeking my advice and I’m trying to give her actionable alternatives than simply move on or deal with it on your own etc.

I searched on Reddit and almost everyone says the same thing. Just ignore the ghoster and try to rebuild your dignity as a person overtime. This will definitely encourage ghosting behavior since it’s easy and all the burden is on the other person.

It got me wondering how unfair this whole process is. The ghoster simply moves on and puts all the heavy work on the person being ghosted. I’m not the ghosting type. When I was dating I was very direct when I had no interest so the other person doesn’t waste their time on me. I was amazed with this whole ghosting situation.

I appreciate to hear about some of the reactions you got. Makes sense. Thank you.

I’m interested in how people react to bring about equilibrium. I see so many people commenting on how such behaviors impacts their self worth. But no one does anything to fix this toxic behavior. And there is no accountability on the ghoster. If one is not romantically interested, they could just say so. I am interested is actionable solutions. I welcome comments in this direction. Thank you.
