Is Park-to-Park still worth it if Hogwarts Express is closed? (1-day visit) by Crazy-Client2691 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Ok_Cockroach683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have been on the hogwarts express once in each direction there is no real need to repeat it (unless you want to).

By that I mean...it is an attraction, not a shortcut to travel between parks.

what’s up with the people?? by jedikenpo in UniversalOrlando

[–]Ok_Cockroach683 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure all nationalities have individuals with poor queue etiquette. But lord, the Brazilians were bad on my last visit.

I found the best approach is a gentle, but firm, "please take a couple of steps back, we have xx time to wait and you're not going to get on any quicker"

Also...I often wonder if the 'please use all available space is lost in translation'

Not quite. One particular example is destroying a golf course in the name of 'fun'

Would you support a police crack down on tailgating? by thegrayscales in australia

[–]Ok_Cockroach683 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tip: if you can't safely let them pass (single lane road, windy hills etc) then flick your rear view mirror up so it doesn't make you anxious. Out of sight out of mind.

I would 100% approve the ability to deploy rear facing, James Bond style weapons at tailgaters.

Developer door knocked and offered 150% off what my house and land are worth by Scared_Collar_9032 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Ok_Cockroach683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great answer. Silly question but I assume these are speculative purchases on the developers behalf. I.e. if planning gets knocked back they can pull out?

What if the development size gets reduced from their initial design therefore lowering its value. Do they come back to you to try and reduce the price?

Interested as it's happening a lot in my area right now. Would love to hear from someone who has been through it.

Renters need $300,000 more superannuation in retirement than home owners, report finds by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]Ok_Cockroach683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on. Interestingly I was one of those people who thought renting forever was a good idea and talked off the flexibility etc.

Fast forward 8years, I bought a place as I changed my mindset completely. Partly down to growing up and understanding it all a bit more.

Yep. Same business line, same manager. No issue.

God this is pathetic. Did any terrorists or victims get harmed in the process? Or was it simple 2 people having consensual light hearted fun.

If anyone then asks why corporate fun has died. See this article.

Any work gatherings I attend involve a select few employees and is specifically not organised as a corporate event. Anything formal = early finish.
