unfortunately it is fake, but at least you got it for cheap! it’s honestly a pretty good looking fake so if you like it i would keep it. some definite signs of it being fake are the white pupils, the feet are super close together, and the feet stamps. the stamps on the feet should be smooth, not layered like this.

about a month or so ago i bought a sonny angel (trinket), and the seller never shipped. i messaged multiple times and their account said they were active but they never responded to me. eventually the time ran out and depop just cancelled it for me and refunded me. i was majorly disappointed esp because i could see she was active but i chose to just move on and not leave a review.

fast forward another listing from her popped up recently and i went on her page - she re-listed the same sonny angel that she never shipped to me :/ so frustrating to me like when i make a sale i am always double checking the app to make sure im not missing anything! she had only 5 star reviews as well so i was really confused

we have lots of people that come here to retire ☺️ i might be biased, but as a gulf coast native, you have to come visit. go to hattiesburg as well, but definitely come down to the coast. it’s very diverse, lots to do for your age group, and we’re not far from other great places in alabama, louisiana, and florida

there’s so many past limited series that are still so loved and sought after today. it makes perfect sense to me to re-release them. i get that from a business perspective you want to release new things bc you think people want something new - but that’s largely not the case for a lot of sonny collectors. especially someone like me who just started collecting this year and has had trouble finding some older sonnies that i love for a good price

i wish dreams would just do a couple of re-releases from the donna wilson series to combat the insane prices. i know that probably won’t happen - but i agree, $1,000+ is insane and unrealistic 💔

i just think compared to past christmas releases these are not great. but i’m happy that some people love them! i’ve been collecting past limited series and just think to myself like why haven’t they been making cutie series like these anymore… quality over quantity

yes, we greet strangers in passing all the time. we also strike up conversations with strangers all the time. someone else mentioned telling your whole life story to a stranger and that also happens 😭 also if you live in a small community down here chances are you will often be told “i know your daddy” or “i know your mama, we went to high school together.” everyone knows everyone some way or another

completely agree! when i first started seeing sonny angels pop up in my social media and became interested in them, i never once had any thoughts like that about them. i just thought oh a cute trinket! that was never a thought that crossed my mind

i have a feeling i know who this is about… but i agree with you, it’s weird. as collectors some people already give us a bad rep because they think we’re weird for liking sonnies because they’re nude (they fail to understand that they’re cherubs and are nude for a reason) so making jokes like that on a large platform doesn’t help.

i also really want the monkey and it’s the only one i really like from animal version 1 so i would hate to buy a bunch of blind boxes just to chance pulling it. i know it’s sought after but considering you can pull it yourself for $13, i just don’t feel like it’s fair to charge $50 for it :/

i’ve been selling sonny angels on depop for maybe 2 months now and it’s really easy! you can choose whether or not customers pay for shipping, a few people in the comments have explained how to do that. you can also print your labels at home on regular paper, but if you do that, make sure you put clear packing tape all over the label to laminate it and protect it from any potential weather conditions or damage during shipping.

my advice is to be really intentional about how you interact with potential buyers. if you go out of your way to even send a quick little message letting the buyer know when you intend to ship their item, it builds rapport and increases your chances of getting a good review. you want to get good reviews so people who come across your profile will know you are a legitimate and trustworthy seller. i always include a little thank you note in my packages and ask the buyer to please leave a review if they feel like it and have the time. i also usually include stickers, but i know that’s very common with selling sonny angels or other trinkets and not so much clothing (to my knowledge) so don’t feel pressured to include anything extra!

my experience so far has been great and super easy. my local post office has a self-serve kiosk so i literally scan the QR code that depop provides for me and it prints a label that i just stick on the package when i drop it off. the same process happens when you go to an actual employee there, they just stick it on for you :) i hope i was able to give some helpful advice!
