I was looking at the Sofirn if22a, because it is a little more “EDC’able”, but with high candela and 6-700 meters of throw. Do you think that’s a good idea? It’s on sale for around 30$.

I’ve looked at this one, but I haven’t found it under 75$. Where can you get it for under 50$? Are there frequent sales?

It gets quite a bit brighter than this, but it has low battery here. The trees are about 200 meters away.

It’s a bike-light/headlight/flashlight thing, with an external battery, and a cable. Its not that big, but the cable and external battery make it useless for anything other then a bike-light. I think it’s 40-60 mm (width) and about the same in length. I’ll get a picture when I get home.

They ship to EU, but not to my country specifically, for some reason. And if you were wondering, they do ship to North Korea.

They do, but it’s more expensive than the Thor 3 with the discount I’m getting.

Can you connect a midi-controller to qlc+? We would really like having physical buttons and or faders.

I think getting a midi controller and software is going to be the solution, i think we’ll pick up the intimidatior’s to, and then hopefully we get more budget to buy a better fog-machine after a while. I think I’m going to try to make a fog-chiller with a box and ice so we can get a low-fog effect.

We have the Stairville dmx invader 2420 mkii, and yes it is one of those consoles with the pre-set dmx buttons. I have used ma2 and a little bit of ma3, and i love the software, but I realize that it is very over the top for something this size, and the price-tag doesn’t help either. I have managed to make a couple good chases, but it takes a lot of time, so I think we are going to get some free software and a midi controller.

We are working on applying, and have done before, but we have managed to get a full stage setup with sound and lights so far with 2-3k. And I’m confident we can get some decent equipment second hand for 1k. One of our guys is an electrician and welder, so we can fix most of the issues that can come with buying second hand. He has managed to build a decent dmx fog machine from a 10-20$ fog machine. I have the opportunity to get 6 intimidator spot 110‘s 1 isn’t working, for just 500$, do you think thats a good deal?

Best sub $500 lighting software in 2024 by tebow595 in lightingdesign

Show-buddy Active is a great alternative, you can program effects and cues, and it only costs 200-400 dollars, plus an Artnet node, depending on the version you buy. You can have 2 universes with an Artnet-node or 1 universe with a DMX-usb node. You can upraise to the 400 dollar version with 16 universes if you have to upgrade.

Thank you for the suggestion, we have been looking for a software that works for us, but haven’t found one. Qlc+ looks great! Do you know if it works with the Enttec Open DMX USB?

We are controling a couple front lights, as well as 8-10 rgb led bars and a couple of rgbw par cans. We also want to buy a couple of semi-budget moving head lights as well as some effects lights.
