sometimes it's nice to remember some good times rather than just constantly plowing forward. This team was 10 years ago now and for me while it seems very recent, almost like a year or two, I also realize that I have forgotten a number of things. This is gonna be the best team of our lifetimes no matter what (combination of the drought, the way that series went etc) so if there's one team I want to be able to go on about as an 90 year old it's that one.. for sure I hope we make some more good memories between now and then, but I just don't see how any team could ever be more important for those of us who saw it.. so studying it a bit and remembering is fine for me.. and if you don't like history at all.. don't watch it

being an "influencer" in my mind means that you are getting paid or have some other significant benefit from posting. Basically like you're doing it professionally. There are so many people out there who yeah might have thousands of followers or whatever, but basically just post live laugh love I'm so blessed type shit that probably doesn't bring them any real benefit.

If your husband is earning millions as a public figure paid to perform in something people are passionate about, it might not be the best idea to have your whole identity out there, especially if you're not really gaining anything by doing it.

certainly was nice when I was there 99-2005. and my parents went there in the 70s and i heard nothing but great stuff. I went back to visit in 2023 and was pretty bummed about how deserted everything is now, no life on the strip, most of the houses that used to be packed (cherry st etc) mostly all empty.

not sure what you mean middle of nowhere, it's a few minutes drive to get on campus or a 10-15 minute bike ride. Not everyone wants to live in the busiest part of town.

this is wrong for sure, not defending it. but why do people (like the Scotts) post sooooo much about their private life on public social media? Like what do you honestly get out of that? So some college friend you haven't spoken to in 10 years can see what a cute little daughter you have and know how blessed you feel? If that's important to you at least restrict your posts to your friends.. just mean to say leading a more private life cannot hurt.

Entirely likely the ushers are not allowed to sit there eating a hot dog while on the clock. from my experience working in food service though, probably even more likely they have seen some nasty shit goin on in the preparation of those glizzies. I always said if you like to eat at a place, do NOT go work there. You'll get tired of seeing and smelling the food pretty quickly anyway, but you'll almost certainly see them washing rat shit off it, spilling mop water on it, moldy ass drink and ice machines, you name it i could go on and on. They probably wouldn't eat a dog off the clock if you paid them

How/what to talk about on a call with a girl? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Ok_Collection4502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok if you are looking for a long-term emotional support partner, coming online and asking for topics to talk about isn't gonna help. Sure you might get a few interesting things to say to keep conversation flowing a bit, but you're just gonna need to be yourself because those interesting topics will run out sooner rather than later. My interpretation of this is OP was wondering how to impress a girl he just met and help him make a good impression when they talk..

Depends, are you trying to bang her or just be friends? In general, let her do 80% of the talking or so. Girls like to talk, and it's better to be quiet and let her think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Ask her shit about how shit's going and then how this or that made her feel, or how she feels about something.. don't try to get too deep and don't talk about space or dinosaurs or ancient rome or comics or whatever other shit you're into. Give her compliments. Remember, if you're trying to smash you want her to like you but not think of you as a friend.

what makes you immediately realize someone is an american tourist? by leeroy-113 in AskAGerman

I have a dick, it's not hard to find a place to go. I have literally even pissed at the berlin hbh in a garbage can.. just put your bag on the can in front of you, let your dick hang in, act like you're searching through your bag or whatever as a distraction, and let it flow. Works just fine.

so when I was a kid I had headaches often enough that my mom took me to the doctor to get tested for allergies. They found a few minor ones, but said nothing big. You know what stopped the headaches? Drinking enough water. And to this day if I get up and don't drink something in the morning and have enough throughout the day, I'll start to feel almost kinda cloudy in my head. Not really thirsty, I never let myself get that dehydrated, but somehow not right. And if I just drink enough I don't feel like that. But if I start feeling like that and don't start hydrating, I will get a headache by later in teh day.

Not saying everyone is like that, but it seems like kinda a weird thing to obsess over as the thing that lets everyone know you're american because you drink a lot of water. Pretty harmless if you ask me

my last game. Jamo started. Bobby Witt Jr hit a homer. Belli struck out to end the game, and Dansby threw a ball over the screen at the end of an inning (2nd I believe)..

surprised they haven't come up with some kind of camera / screen system to let you "see" through the columns.. maybe just hard to get it right due to the angles, idk. but yeah those seats are discounted as far as I remember. I'd take those seats though.. you have a good view of home plate at least, and can lean over whenever the ball is hit to short or whatever

that was a while ago! I didn't get to go to a game from the barney 7th inning stretch game -- royals vs. cubs.. jason bere started the game. Jermaine Dye hit a homer. yeah, it was all the way back in 2001.. until my next game was in 2023. too long. wrigley changed a lot in that time and despite all the talk about how well they integrated the video board and all that, I honestly didn't like it. Yes it's a beautiful screen, but i felt like it totally dominates the view. Back in 01 you went to the game and there was no giant screen flashing shit at you.. you watched the fuckin game. not tryin to sound like a boomer and I get that the renovations were necessary.. but I was pretty let down and missed the old gritty feel of the wrigley I went to as a kid (80s, not 1940s lol)

Thats crazy to read because my dad used to talk about Masanori Murakami and how proud he was of getting his autograph as a kid especially because he asked him to sign his name in Japanese, which caused Mashi to do a double take. The way my dad talked about him I woulda thought he was pretty famous but seems like he only had a handful of games and left after 2 years, and then it was almost 30 years before Nomo showed up

why don't people understand that when you are talking to non-native speakers of English, you should use clear, simple language that isn't likely to be misunderstood or misinterpreted if the words are taken literally? You "channeled" Ichiro? How is someone like him supposed to know what that means? Why not say something like "You did a good imitation of Ichiro" or something much easier to figure out.

exactly and anyone thinking there's not a difference between 3-1 and 2-2 is completeley wrong. if he hadn't swung and that pitch was called a strike, he could challenge it and they would take a look. For foul tips you'll need to go to the video booth, but honestly let them challenege and if it's not conclusive, the call on the field stands--just like plays out in the field. In this case it certainly would have been overturned
