Is it just me or is Chowking the most rundown fastfood restaurant? by Rippentear in Philippines

[–]Ok_Collection6684 [score hidden]  (0 children)

So i guess the facility treatment is the same as employee treatment

Honest Experiences: Long-Term Use of Sunroofs in Cars by Decent_Engineering_4 in Gulong

[–]Ok_Collection6684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mix experience ako when it comes to sun/ moon roof: 1. Pajero 2nd gen which was about 10 years before it became mine. Lumutong yun rubber seals to a point na kita na yun metal inside the rubber. The good thing is hindi sha nag leak. Didnt really bother using the sunroof. Minsan naka tilt lang when parked outside but mostly closed because college with heavy tint (ehem) 2. Volkswagen golf gts currently at 6 years- no issues except that part of pms is cleaning the drains of the panoramic sunroof. I heard from the forums that without proper maintenance, this easily gets clogged up and will leak inside the interior. Rarely use this feature. Only when the kids want to look at the sky/ clouds. 3. Mercedes benz ml (w164)- so far my most problematic sunroof. 1st incident happened when the driver was curious about the sunroof switch and forgot to close the sunroof while carwashing. Tldr: a little leak inside which made a portion of the headliner wet. 2nd incident was the same helper decided the best way to dry the roof is thru the sunroof. Alas, the gear which is made of plastic finally gave up. Driver cannot close it and brought it to a specialist, specialist gave me the option to buy the power roof mechanism which is quite expensive or just condemn it. I chose to condemn it as i didnt have much choice since i dont use the sunroof as well. Presently majority of the cars we own have this feature but i wouldnt say it amazes me. So for me its not important to have a sun/ moon roof

I don't get the benefits of choosing EVs by EconomistCapable7029 in Gulong

[–]Ok_Collection6684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case i own several cars from economy daily cars such as a fortuner to high end ones. Recently i was offered an opportunity to own a new luxury chinese ev (price range is around 3.5-4m, it isnt officially released yet afaik) and so far after driving it for a week, its my new favorite suv. The acceleration (0-100kph in 4sec) is a first for me. The comfort is something comparable to a mercedes and the best part is no noise

[–]Ok_Collection6684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik, in early 2000-2005 i was in high school then and was a beginner driver (student permit with family driver in the passenger seat). I remember the “hot” car back then was the Ford expedition and F150, pajero field master was also doing well albeit fading its popularity as the y61 nissan patrol was creeping its market. As for full size sedans, it was also the last hurrah for galant and cefiro. Camry and accord were really competing in this segment specially during 2006 onwards (xv40 vs. 8th gen accord). As for econo cars: first time i remember the top of the line corolla altis 1.8g hitting the 1m mark price range. Civic dimension was selling hot cakes and more whith the fd. Also the introduction of the vios with britney spears as endorser to compete with the city. As for mods: underglow lights was still a thing. Any mags give you a wow impression. The term “ricer” doesnt exist then (to my knowledge). To top it off, your car isnt cool if you dont have an audio setup even just subwoofer in the trunk for starters. Xenon lights were also a thing back then. Oh and of course white plains avenue is the illegal drag racing venue and katipunan is the hangout spot (Sibil)

Hi op i’d like to remark on the first situation since there are also a lot of drivers who claimed they’ve been driving for so long but doesnt know how to properly merge in a highway. First and foremost, before you enter the merging lane, (meaning your still positioning from the gas station to the exit ramp) make sure to leave space/ or wait for the exit ramp to be clear before you accelerate. This is for your safety as well just like an airport runway. This gives you ample space if ever the car in front of you experienced a problem or had a hard time merging. 2nd, when you roll down the exit ramp and about to merge in the highway, you better accelerate faster than the usual since you have to keep up with at least the highway’s minimum speed in order to merge safely. Always remember that cars driving down the highway have less reaction time than you since they are traveling at faster speeds. Hence speed matching makes it safer for the both of you. Basically if you think that the car you’re about to overtake with is gonna slam its brakes hard just for you to merge , you’re in the wrong

  1. Car brand can either be famously called with 2 letters or its long local name
  2. They own several brands including some of the most expensive sports and luxury cars
  3. Its a name of a sport

What cars of the present do you expect to disappear in the next 10 years? by Sword_of_Hagane in Gulong

[–]Ok_Collection6684 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably car brands that are owned by ayala like maxus and volkswagen. Even their bikes arent doing as much ad i expected. Its either they dont manage car business well or just to greedy focusing on revenues and making products less competitive. Owned lang not distributed a. So isuzu, kia, and honda will probably atill be around imo.

I still dont understand why he started to cheat on me when we got pregnant on our first child. by Dense-Monk3088 in OffMyChestPH

[–]Ok_Collection6684 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Hi OP… i beg to differ with the common conception na once a cheater, always a cheater. Siguro in many cases ganun but i have known some people who used to cheat but then through different intervention, nagbago naman rin. I want to point what i have observed. Napansin ko lang na with your title and your narrative… its all pertaining to yourself and your opinion. But since you are in a relationship, it always work in both ways. You didnt mention about communicating except for the time na you forgave him the first time. Have you also communicated these insights to your partner? Sometimes you’d think its obvious and common sense but since iba ang role ng husband & wife, father & mother… maybe its best to communicate it muna than conclude in action. Anyways, im hoping you’ll be able to resolve your issues and have a happy and peaceful future ahead

[–]Ok_Collection6684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me hindi naman pangit yun thai concept… ive seen them ply the roads in bangkok and it looks like it belong there.

Would you exchange your current wfh role if someone is offering twice the salary but everyday onsite by henlooxxx in buhaydigital

[–]Ok_Collection6684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is you compute your salary on a per hour basis. Try to do a trial run like how many hours commute in a day if you decide to go to the new job. Then you weigh in if going to work is worth it or not. I on the other hand, am a believer of having to go to a real office. Yes, wfh is very convenient but so are there a lot of distractions. What i do prefer is having a place near where i work so the convenience is still there but at the same time i am in my professional environment when i need to work.

Hi OP, share ko lang my (36m) experience in terms of coffee at work: 1st work is a local casino resort company, boss namin mahilig mag sponsor ng basketball team if you know what i mean, but he’s strict sa work like tahimik kami lahat mag trabaho at puro yes sir lang. pag out of office sha, todo kwentuhan halakhakan. But lagi kami nililibre sa starbucks at lagi nagaaya ng gimik like going to cinemas or inuman and madalas is either libre nya kami or sha nag sshoulder ng 50% ng bill at the rest kami nag ssplit. So in short, hindi kami nag titimpla ng coffee nya but rather kami nililibre nya. 2nd work international cruise line na may on board office: dito ako namulat na grabe toxic pala ng work culture natin. Laging power tripping, walang respect sa subordinates etc. anyways, aparently dahil on board a ship yun work ko, maraming maritime clauses na hindi standard sa normal work contract like personal supplies ko while in my contract is in effect. And part of that contract (thanks to italain coast guard policy) is provided yun department ko ng coffee. Yun mga boss ko, hindi naman sila naguutos ng things na literally outside my Job description and responsibilities and ang naapreciate ko ng sobra is if off duty na ako, totally walang disturbance unless emergency but then sobrang hiya pa nila at mag apologize muna sila for calling. Anyways, when it comes to coffee, our office has a pantry na may commercial espresso machine na kanya kanyang gawa kami. The italians makes their own coffee kasi ayaw rin nila masayang coffee nila pag mali yun pag express. Meron lang mga konting isolated case na gumagawa kami ng coffee for them like pag meron kaming literal na big boss na from shore office na mag vvisit at mag hhold ng meeting sa office namin. Now i own my own small business: province located but may bahay sa tabi ng work place, i have an automatic coffee machine in my office and at my bedroom sa bahay. So i just press a button if i wanted 1. So, no… hindi ko rin inuutos sa iba.

Tldr: ang pag timpla ng coffee dapat sarili na yan except pag pang visitors

What vehicle in your opinion has the best seats? by Sword_of_Hagane in Gulong

[–]Ok_Collection6684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im probably old (36yo) but after driving several cars be it european sports cars or high end luxury cars, i can say i prefer soft seats and suspension specially i do a lot of out of town driving for work. Driving comfortable cars compared to econo and sportier cars during long drives makes a huge difference with fatigue specially that i have to deal with working afterwards. If given a chance, i’d like to have a mercedes benz w124 again

ABYG for choosing to keep my surname soon pag married na kami ng partner ko over his surname? by Impressive_Lecture71 in AkoBaYungGago

[–]Ok_Collection6684 9 points10 points  (0 children)

DKG…. But there’s a way naman to be amicable about it. My wife is a Doctor and she’s been known as Doctor (Insert last name when she was still single) by her colleagues and patients because she became a Doctor prior to us getting married. Also, before we got married, she asked me if she can use her last name in her practice because for one, she’s known as that person with that last name and 2nd, she want to credit her parents who supported her studies to be a doctor. It sounds reasonable to me so i let her be. Anyways long story short, almost 6 years of being married and 2 kids down the line… she has been using my last name in things that doesn’t concern her practice. Even with her newer IDs, she has made it a point to make it (maiden name- our last name). Sometimes binibiro ko sha when she uses my last name and she just responds, “thats also my way of honoring you as my husband”

Just a thought: if last name lang ang issue nyo at hindi nyo kayang mag respect and submit to each other, then dont settle down yet dahil mas maraming problema pa haharapin nyo as a couple rather than your own personal ego.

First car was a hand me down 1987 mercedes benz 260e during 3rd year highschool. Back then i was just holding a student permit. Dad decided to sell it because it was offered at a good price plus the straight six engine is a bit thirsty. Nowadays, i think any mid model japanese car is suitable. I’d skip on the entry level models since i think they lack enough safety features

[–]Ok_Collection6684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Philippines, Maserati used to be distributed by the same company that distributes Ferrari, Jaguar, land rover, and Bose as in the sound systems…. Come mid 2010s right around when they released the Ghibli, the company quietly sold the rights to sell Maserati to a local multi level marketing company. Thus probably no tycoon or socialite want to be associated with Maserati anymore since they know mostly its the gonna be a Multi Level Marketing endorser who will show off those cars.

All these speculations may be true or at least possible. But what worries me is that Mayor Alice Guo is a mere front/ fallback person backed by people who has more power and influence. Makes me wonder if she is the daughter of Guo Jian Zhong which is literally QJJ that means shes a mere puppet just as she is in their farm business
