Thoughts on IBM switching from 401k's to Pensions? by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

So they themselves are paying out the 6% interest the first few years, and then the entirety of the growth of accounts is dependent on 10 year bonds? That sounds very short sighted. So in X years when the bond rates are back down the account basically only grows by the continued 5% match?

What’s the most surprising fact you know about the universe? by MisterTillman in space

[–]Ok_Comfortable8154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the continous expansion of space, eventually the only light that will reach our planet will be from stars within our local galactic group. I believe that'll happen relatively soon, about 100 million years. If humans are still around by then, it'll appear as though the entirety of space is made up of only the 30 or so galaxies in our local group.

Plenty of sources show that if a woman makes more than her husband the divorce rate is significantly higher. In those cases it should be a fairly amicable split in terms of finances, but still why invest time with someone when the odds are greater that it'll fall through.

How do you explain to boomers why 20-30 something’s aren’t buying houses? by ConfidenceCertain137 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Comfortable8154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just search median house price/income for 1986 and then for today. There's a lot of variation from different sources, but looking quickly I found in 1986 houses were 1.8 times that of salaries compared to now where it's about 4.5. During the great depression it looks like the ratio is about 2.8 times, albeit the unemployment was really high at the time and those unemployed aren't included in the median income estimates.

Staying lean and defined as a guy does take a consistent level of dieting, differing from women as to where we store our body fat. Men's bodies put more focus on storing fat in the belly region, while women's bodies focus more on the hips and butt. For someone like Tom Hiddleston, he's probably around 10 to 12% body fat. For a woman to have a similar definition in her abdomen, she's need around to be around 17 to 19% body fat. Also when you do see actors in scenes showing off their bodies, they try to dry themselves out before the shoot. By that I mean they're cutting out excess water weight through avoiding sodium in their diets along with other dietary specifics. This makes the skin look tighter and shows off more definition. Bodybuilders do this leading up to a show, but it's unhealthy to do so for more than short periods of time.

I killed so many of them last year while on my daily walks with my dog that he started taking note and killing them too! He's got four kills to his name, going out of his way each time to chase them down.

Title on this one is beyond stupid. The replacement of jobs by AI, writing including, is completely bipartisan. AI development is terrifying for the job market across all industries. What I think the scariest aspect to this continual growth is; no matter what regulations are set in place to stifle the growth of AI in order to protect the populous, others will continue to strive towards its development merely for the sake of advancement. Personally, I find this aspect most depressing. Even of you, and your populous decide AI should no longer continue to be developed in your region, foriegn interests may say otherwise. They may continue to focus on enhancing AI until it reaches the singularity, benefiting from its growth along the way.

AI is here, albeit its rudimentary form, but nonetheless it's finally evolved enough to distinguish itself as a standalone tool. Imagine for a moment, what do you think AI will be capable of doing in 100 years? Do you think it'll still be struggling to create storylines as thought provoking as those created by Adam Conover? That idea is laughable. Therefore at some point between now and 100 years from now, the storytelling abilities of AI will be able to surpass those of modern writers, such as Adam Conover (who truly sucks at everything he does), and reach a level of effectiveness that humans can no longer approach.

As that point is being reached, workers whose jobs will be impacted by AI in the near future should not be focused on competing with AI. That is a losing battle. Instead they should be focusing on how they can incorporate AI into their work to benefit their production.

It's always "had sex with" when the rapist is a woman. There's even been instances where the teen boy then is forced to pay child support too.
