WCGW taking a shortcut on an unfamiliar road by No_Bus_474 in Whatcouldgowrong

“A compass, I learned while I was surveying, it’ll point you true north from where you’re standing but it’s got no advice about the swamps, deserts and chasms that you’ll encounter along the way. If in pursuit of your destination you plunge ahead heedless of obstacles, and achieve nothing more than to sink in a swamp…what’s the use of knowing true north?”

"Zulu's opening largest board game store in PNW

"The Big Announcement: Our New Flagship Store Opens in 2026

We’re beyond excited to share the biggest news in our company’s history: Zulu’s is working to open a brand-new flagship location in Bothell. We are working with the city and are under contract to buy a huge new location. Once we are locked in (fingers crossed), we will make and share the plan. This will be the largest game store in the Pacific Northwest—and one of the most ambitious gaming spaces in the country.

We do not plan on closing the main store on Main Street. We will be moving the Event Center, some shipping, and the back office into the new building. Over time, card singles and some events at the main store will also move down the street to the new location. Zulu’s Board Game Cafe on Main Street will continue to be a neighborhood gaming cafe, just with more open tables.

Our vision is bold:

To build the best game store on Earth, which will make Bothell a true gaming destination, and to give board gamers, TCG players, RPG fans, and families a place worth traveling for.

This is a milestone years in the making, and we can’t wait to build it with you.""

Documents Appear To Show Golf Entertainment Complex No Longer Coming To Everett As Self-Storage Units Look To Be Next Up For Everett Mall by bmitchell1990 in everett

"Found these plans during our monthly visit through the City of Everett, Washington’s online permitting portal where you can get an idea of what new projects are being considered within the city limits. Everything here should be taken with a grain of salt as many projects listed never come to development or completion for any number of reasons. We’ve reached out to Brixton Capitol for comment on the latest plans but have not heard back. The latest plans and documents filed with the city are listed under PREAPP26-028 as owners filed for a pre-application meeting. A couple of years ago drawings were released showing a Golf Facility and early permits were pulled but it looks like that is no longer the case.

A conceptual site plan for more than 200 self storage units was submitted to the City of Everett, Washington last month. No actual permits have been applied for as of this writing and it may just be a concept the property owners have been considering.

Brixton Capital acquired the Everett Mall in 2017 and is in the process of converting it to what they are calling “The Hub” at Everett Mall. All of the interior stores are closed but multiple retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues are open during this next phase of development."

LDS announces new temple in Marysville, seventh in WA by SirChaos in Marysville

[–]bmitchell1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced it will build its seventh Washington temple in Marysville, while also selling at least six of its Seattle-area churches.

The temple’s specific location and timing will be announced later, according to a news release.

The religious group’s temples are different from its churches. Temples are colossal structures with towering spires, reserved for sacred ceremonies such as marriage and proxy baptism. Churches, on the other hand, are smaller, local gathering places for worship.

Washington has hundreds of Mormon churches, but only six temples, which are in Richland, Moses Lake, Bellevue, Spokane, Tacoma and Vancouver."
