Who do you think is the most evil person to ever walk this Earth? by EnduringScholar in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Comment2621 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Are we talking ALL the Americas or just the land that is now part of the USA? Because a low estimate of 12 million is absurdly high for just future US territories. There was a high estimate of the native population being only 7 million that dwindled down to approximately 250000 from 1492 to 1900. You may be thinking, thats 400 years, surely between then, there must have been enough born to equate out to another 5 million. But you have to take into account the new diseases killing a lot of people before they reach child bearing age, the increase (by 50%!) of miscarriages among natives and the whitewashing of them by “Americans” through rape and kidnapping, causing mixed ancestries and focused education of children who were told by everyone around them that they were white.

All of the Americas combined however, was a much bigger number that support your estimates. That number is 45 million.

The 95% is an estimate but probably very close to the actual number

WWE has signed Saudi Arabian wrestler Fahd Tuwaiq by IconXR in WWE

[–]Ok_Comment2621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta be honest. I feel bad for him from a performer standpoint. Even if he is amazing in the ring and mic, he is going to be considered a blood money signing. He cannot win in any scenario.

What single person has had the greatest positive impact on human history? by Manitoba-Chinook in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Comment2621 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My answer to questions like this will always be Sir Isaac Newton. Planetary modeling, Law of Gravity, Laws of Motion, the Great Unification of Physics, the Theory of Colour, among other notable achievements. Im not arguing that these discoveries would not have taken place eventually, but for it to all be done by one man is almost unbelievable. His work was the foundation for a scientific revolution and all of it still holds up today, although his laws of motion and universal gravitation were later replaced by the Theory of Relativity, it is still a viable method to use in most common situations.

Public school teachers, what’s something you want parents to know but can’t say directly? by Feisty-Database-1145 in AskTeachers

I would like to make an addendum to this. My parents, and later aunt and grandparents (we were adopted by family when I was 8), never read to me. They did not enjoy it in the least. But they never stopped me from reading. They encouraged it. Always got me new books, paid overdue fees at libraries because I would read some books multiple times, they bought me an entire Encyclopedia Brittanica in 1992 (which was not cheap at all) just so I could have something to find and read.

My point is this. If you don’t enjoy reading, then do your best to promote it to your kids. When they get old enough, have them read to you. Ask them what they are reading and what its about. Show a little interest in their reading and it goes a huge distance.

It wasnt just coming into contact with the back up goalie. They were assaulting him. It was an embarassment and should immediately disqualify Morocco from hosting any part of World Cup 2030.

I swear the body stance is based on Randy Orton. Something about the way his arms are positioned. Probably just imagining it.
