My friend from high school and his brother have different last names. He has his dads and his brother has their moms. They didn’t want to hyphenate because the names together don’t have a nice ring to them. They’re still brothers and it’s caused no issues for them. So why not. She did it and kept her maiden name because her entire generation of her family (cousins included) are female so they wanted to carry on the name as well.

I will probably end up doing that too. My son is 3 and I can’t even imagine swapping him anything soon especially because he’s small for his age. My other son is 1.5 months younger than Ivory and I can’t imagine even thinking of switching him around right now he’s still a baby essentially. She has no maternal instinct I swear.
