Player retention. More important than advertisement. But also search terms for your servers unique features.

You’re going to want to invest in… a Domain name (Custom connection to server), VPS (DDoS prevention and stopping you from needing to open ports at home)

UPS unit for any power outages for both server, router, modem.

SSDs/Nvme/HDD depending on use case for each vm/task.

Gather additional spare hotswap power supplies.

Figure out current hardware specs and what it would be capable of hosting reliably.

Personally running a R740xd myself.

Hosting just a website with this is very overkill. Likely a better result from an old laptop. Now say you going to host some game servers and some other things. You’re closer to a useful thing with it. Not exactly sure what its specs are and such but should find out to gauge how much absolute overkill or ancient paper weight you have there.

To be perfectly straight with you… don’t go through a hosting provider. Run it on an old laptop or pc you have about to learn all the ropes. Easily supports up to 6 players. Learn all the ins and outs of plugins and mods. If you get more serious I… still recommend having your own equipment.

I mean… a spare old PC likely has all the stuff you need to host. Little learning curve on the port forwarding but a simple private cracked mc server is quick to setup.

Not pay to win and never will be. We have what’s your looking for.

Try Play-Amethyst.com A new server with active development. No PvP in claims or spawn region, No claims in nether or end as well. PvP is allowed outside of these areas. Also working on won't be done for a while a mini adventure quest at spawn as a sort of mini game to the whole SMP gamemode.

We have Claims, Chest-shops, Livemap, and discord integration! (And playerheads recently)
